...but a lot of people don't want the anime ones everyone's kicking off about, because they aren't historical or military enough for the game. I give you a set of alternative skins and reskinned tanks, that are both interesting, and either historical or military.

Panther Cuckoo

This is a standard German Panther (Ausf. D I think), captured by the British, and painted olive green with 'Cuckoo' and huge allied stars painted on the turret sides. The tank also has a Zimmerit coating, to make it even more interesting. This one would be a tier VII in the British tree. (And maybe a dual nation tank).

Spoiler

Monty's Grant

This one would be a reskinned Grant (when it comes out). General Montgomery, while in the Desert War, had his own personal Grant command tank, which retained its armament. The tank was painted in overall sand yellow, and had 'Monty' inscribed on the hull front, as well as having divisional markings on the fenders. The Grant also has sand shields over the running gear. This one would be a tier IV in the British tree, and would come with Bernard Montgomery as the commander.

Spoiler

Tiger 131

This German Tiger was captured more or less intact by the British after its turret was disabled, during the war in the desert. The tank was shipped back to Britain for use in propaganda purposes, and after the war was sent to Bovington. Eventually the tank was restored to running condition, using the engine from the museum's Tiger II. The tank remains the only running Tiger in the world and is a popular attraction at the museum. I reckon this could be tier VI, since it only uses the short 88, like the Japanese Tiger on PC. The tank would be a British/German dual nation crew trainer.

Spoiler

Oddball's Sherman

This is the Sherman tank commanded by Oddball in the show Kelly's Heroes. I've never actually watched it, but its an idea that's been brought up before. I'm guessing tier V, with the default commander being Oddball.

Spoiler

More Camouflages

So far I've only come up with ideas for the British camouflages, but here they are:

Caunter Scheme- Used in the desert war on tanks and trucks:

Spoiler

Bronze Green- Applied to tanks before and during the early stages of WW2.

Spoiler

Malta Scheme- Applied to the very few tanks stationed on Malta during 1941-2, the scheme was intended to blend in with Malta's many dry stone walls and buildings.

Spoiler

Olive Drab- The standard colour for most British tanks after about 1943 serving in Europe.

Spoiler

Olive Drab/Bronze Green Pattern- Applied to tanks serving in France during 1939-40.

Spoiler

Desert Yellow- The standard colour of tanks fighting in North Africa.

Spoiler

Olive Drab and Black Pattern- This is a much more modern pattern applied to AFVs in temperate regions.

Spoiler

Mickey Mouse Pattern- Applied to vehicles and some tanks in Europe 1944-45, it consisted of an olive drab base with black blotches (supposedly looking like mickey mouse's ears) around the edges.

Spoiler

Thoughts?

A tank skinned like the TARDIS. Its tank related because the Doctor played a guitar on top of a chieftain in 1128, and that is also historical.

Nice! The Brits really need those camos, the current ones aren't great.

The funny thing is, most of these aren't actually quirky and little-known, these are the ones that were very widespread, the ones WG put in the game I have never seen on a tank.

I would actually put the Cuckoo as a tier VI rather than a VII unless it get PMM.  The 75 it comes with would struggle with VIIIs and be basically useless against IXs.

I wish that all of the Brit tanks in the game were this colour by default, not the boring light beige colour they are (since when did Britain paint it's tanks beige anyway?)

Cool ideas. Kinda like the t-34-88 decals. Unique but still fitting in with the overall aesthetic of the game. I'd like to see more interesting paintjobs like that.
