Hello all,
We understand that there is still confusion about how Marks of Excellence works and is calculated. To help you understand, or confuse you even more, we are giving you more details for Marks of Excellence. Marks of Excellence are calculated by using an EMA (Exponential Moving Average) and each tank has it's own EMA. We compare your EMA against the Highest Average Damage for all players using that same tank during the time period to determine if you qualify for an MoE.
If your EMA compared to the Highest Average Damage is:
· 65% or higher- you will earn 1 MoE
· 85% or higher, you will earn 2 MoE
· 95% or higher, you will earn 3 MoE
Note: Since MoE’s are based on the highest average damage, it is possible for multiple players to earn a 100% rating
Here are some examples of how your performance will affect your EMA. I used a 100 battle period so you can get a better idea on how your EMA will increase/decrease. Lets see how these players performance determine how many games it takes for them to reach an EMA of 1,000.
Example 1: Player who is not very consistent and their performance is all over the place. It took him ~87 games.
Example 2: Player who is consistently putting up average (Damage+Assist Damage) games. It took him ~67 games.
Example 3: Player who is consistently putting up high (Damage+Assist Damage) games. It took him ~33 games.

So what does this mean in English?
Using an EMA prevents players from buying a new tank, playing 1 or 2 good games and earning a Marks of Excellence. If we allowed that to happen, MoE's would have no value or meaning. As you can see, you start out with a low EMA and must build it up over time by performing well in your tank. The better you consistently perform, the faster your EMA will go up and the quicker you will earn an MoE. If you perform poorly in a game your EMA will lower, however, poor games do not affect your EMA as much as a good game will improve it.
Depending on your skill level, at some point your EMA will be equal to your average (Damage+Assist Damage). For example, if your EMA is 1,200 and are at 80% in the Damage Standings and you continue to do an average (Damage+Assist Damage) of 1,200, your EMA and Damage Standing will not increase or decrease. So if you want to get to that 85% level to earn your second MoE, you will need to start doing more than 1,200 (Damage+Assist Damage) to continue to raise your score.
