I'm about 10-20 battles from unlocking 3 tier 9s...Type 61, 4502B, and Patton. I have enough free Xp to probably skip the lower packages in one of the three. Which of these three tanks is most in need of a quick upgrade?  Thanks for input.

Out of those, the M46 Patton by far has the worst stock grind.

Patton is so bad when stock.
Type 61 is actually fairly decent stock.

You can PM with with questions, if you wish. I don't bite.

The Patton starts with a tier 7 gun. It is the worst of the lot.

Bought the M46 Patton last night. O'lawd, this is painful. My damage fluctuates from ZERO to 1400 consistently. I've got to stop playing like I can take a forward point even in a Tier9 match. I bounce more now than in the Pershing. What's worse, starting with a 75% crew. :child:

Man I got a problem here, some cowboy clipped me on the way in and thrusters are at 50% and dropping.

No. The 105mm isn't good, but the stock grind is very short and you will always have the amazing armor. The M46 Patton, on the other hand, is basically like playing a stock T32, but at tier IX.

Yeah, you can't really play the M46 forward until you get the top turret, which has a 410 m view range. At that point, you can at least scout. With the top 90 mm, it can be an effective, flexible medium.  With the top gun--a 105 with 390 alpha-- it becomes a pretty strong tank.

Apologies for the necromancy - but having re-rolled on the PS4 I would like to nominate/complain bitterly about the stock VK 36.01 H.

The stock gun, dear lord the stock gun.

As far as I can tell there is nothing at tiers 5-8 that this thing can pen with standard rounds. What makes it worse is that it is 11,135 XP to the first change of gun. That is a hell of a lot of rounds where you have to rely on the rest of the team carrying you, as I'm discovering.

Why WG, why make us suffer like this?

Compare to the pershing or the indien?  They are tier 8 tanks that are slow when stock and start with a tier 5 gun.  How about the mt25?  It faces tier 9 tanks.  Stock is painful slow and it starts with a tier 2 gun with 40 pen!  40 pen against 9s

290+ tanks played haven't caught 'em all yet  539543

Think you are the best at WOT this link might explain why you are so good at this game.

You are not kidding.  Just unlocked it last night and it is horrible stock. I am going to grind a little bit on my premium tank and spend some gold to free xp it.  Either that or take half a year trying to get out of the stock gun.

Patton, it gets a terrible stock gun and is quite slow stock. The Type 61 and VK4502b both at least get workable guns when stock.

I remember the Pershing stock package as utterly atrocious. The 46 Patton was pretty bad as well.

I only have the Type61, of those 3. It isn't terrible stock, but I will say that the final package makes that tank awesome. I went from really liking it to absolutely loving it, after fully upgraded. 1 of my favorites in the game.

Use HE in the stock gun, slightly less painful but much more fun.

Yeah, I ended up switching to the HE rounds in the end. Made things a little more tolerable.

Have now unlocked the next gun, so hopefully I'll see some improvement & and my team won't have to carry me.
