The UK although I tend to be quite late at night, around 4 or 5 am usually, so time zone difference shouldn't really be much of an issue.

I'm in the UK too so that makes it easier, although I won't be around for most of Saturday as I'm at volunteering.

Bad luck old man, I'm afraid it landed on tails.

On the bright side, I guess it's more of a challenge!

Is there proof of this? I'm not saying that I don't trust you but it is important that we set off on a fair footing.

Okay, the debate is:

"The League of Nations was, overall, successful in its aims."

Uran, for or against?

Good topic, I should be fine either way on this one.

It should be okay, you'll still have some of Friday night and Sunday as well.

Proof enough for me.

I'll take against, the League of Nations was not successful in its aims.

Okay then, against it is.

Debate:

"The League of Nations was successful in its aims".

Crazedtiger77 arguing for, Uranprojekt arguing against. Debate to begin at 1800 GMT, 11/12/15, and to finish at 1800 GMT, 13/12/15. Is this suitable to both of you?

I know there are a good few of you who love a good argue on this place. So let's have a debating society shall we?

Rules:

  • You'll get picked to go head to head with another member.
  • You have to argue the point you are given.
  • The point you have to argue will be assigned to you and related to historical events.
  • Keep it civil. No insults of the blunt and crude variety. Members are asked to exercise discretion.
  • I will be the referee/speaker of the house/umpire/whatever you want to call it.
  • A winner will be declared when one of the following conditions is met; One of the members admits defeat; One of the members does not reply for a period of 36 hours; The Speaker of the House/referee-person-thing deems one of the members to be defeated due to offering no significant or coherent argument. If no winner is obvious by the end of the allotted time, it will be put to a vote on the part of the members.
  • Members are asked to address each other respectfully.

Ask any questions if you want. Reply if you want to sign up. You'll be added to the members' list. The first debate will be announced on Friday night.

I'm game for some debates, but I hope you don't mind if I don't instantly respond at times; Semester exams are next week so I have to study for that as well as take a 3 hour SAT course every day of the weekend.

Unfortunately Uranprojekt is banned until Sunday night, so there are two options for when I can start the debate. Either 2000 on Sunday or 1700 on Monday. Which one would you prefer?

Said the Italians would switch sides in an argument or something.

That sounds like a petty thing to get banned over but that's just to be expected with some mods.

You'd laugh if I told you who got him banned.
