Dr Bodge’s Guide to Erlenburg (Basic)

While not universally liked, this map does have something to offer most players. The main problem is that the early game north-south split quickly becomes and east-west split and the game can frequently degenerate into a stalemate.

Good For: Most classes, particularly snipers with good view range.

Bad For: Any team with incompetent scouts or passive team-mates.

East Flank

The east flank is normally won by the South Team who can rapidly occupy the valley without exposing themselves to enemy fire. The North team will usually compete for the North end of the east ridge but the lack of support and absence of escape routes mean they will normally lose in the end.

West Flank

A mirror image in some ways of the East Flank, since the South team are usually unable to get enough tanks to the castle area to hold it for the remainder of the game since they have little fire support.

River

By mid-game you normally have two teams looking at each other across the river. From here on the game is mostly about scouting and spotting. There are three areas where you can cross the river and none of them are easy to exploit against a well-prepared enemy.

Mid-Map

This area is very important if you want to cross the river but otherwise is quite a dangerous place to stay. Be careful exploring this area. It is better for Light and Mediums tanks to stay alive to the late-game than to throw their lives away for little return when the opposing ridge is bristling with big Alpha guns.

Camping

This is both one of the best and worst maps for camping. If the enemy attack you then you can rack up big damage numbers without being spotted but if both sides remain passive you might never see anything to shoot at.

This map guide will only work on Assault so far.

It will work for real if someone in the map team can get their [edited]in gear and sort out the spawns so the map isn't as terrible.

Until then the erlenberg map guide is "go for a cup of tea, by the time you get back probably nobody has crossed the river yet".

Good point! Thanks. I was obviously on auto-pilot when writing this one. I will add one for Standard mode.
