What does this rectangular instead of circular render range do for us?

Well, it's a circle now. It used to be a square with 1000 m per side and your tank in the middle. That would mean that if you were in the exact center of a map that is 1000x1000, then it would render anyone who was spotted. If you weren't in the exact center, you could still see some people who were 707 m away. That is, you're in the middle of the square, they are in an extreme corner. The distance from you to them is 707 m. 

 

Changing to the circle with a radius of 564 m, the total area that would be rendered didn't change much--just a reduction from 1,000,000 sq.m to 998,821 sq.m. But, if you are in the exact center of a map now, you won't render the far corners of the map. The corner will be excluded from the circle. Imagine sitting in the precise middle of Prok.  Assuming line of sight, you will not be able to see the TDs camping in the far north west corner. If you move a little bit in that direction, you will see it. 

 

It's not going to matter that much to game play because the game is dynamic and you're not likely to be sitting in one place all game, but it's worth knowing.

Absolutely possible. We've also discussed an alt-history take on the tree.

 

Are we going to get updated HD models like PC did? – karpiu211

 

All of our tanks have been in HD since the Xbox One release in August 2015. We do take PC model updates when they update them, but PC is actually catching up to us in this instance. :)

The Centennial will be released again.

 

Will you implement an artillery aim warning system? – greyweasel UK

 

No current plans for additional warnings for artillery. You currently have a couple of seconds of a sound effect warning, if you’re paying attention.

 

Will the Pz. II J ever have its matchmaking changed back to tier III only? – NinetyMIKE

 

The Pz. II J's matchmaking is one of those things that keeps coming up. It’s rare and a very low-tier tank. Preferential matchmaking on such a low-tier tank owned by experienced players would encourage seal clubbing, so we have no plans to change it at this time.

I've wanted that feature ever since we launched on consoles. It's still high on the wish list.

 

Will we ever see snow accumulation effects? – karpiu211

 

That'd be cool, but we currently don't have any plans for that. 

 

When World of Tanks PC rebalances a tank before it comes to Console, why do we end up getting the pre-balanced version?  – MaxChaos24

 

Taking PC changes on new tanks wouldn't work, since they're balanced specifically to that game. What we do, however, is make our own tweaks before release, based on testing. 

 

 Will artillery ever be removed from the game? -MaxChaos24

 

We have no plans to remove artillery. They're hugely valuable when played right and retain players that want a different play style.

Thanks! This is why I started coming to the forums. I wanted to know what the devs had to say and where the game was going. So, it's important me to keep this stuff together.

When are we getting the Grille 15? -el CHINOCUDEIRO

 

We're in the process of balancing things out to PC Update 9.15, but the Grille 15 will be releasable once that's done.

 

Are we ever going to see modern tanks in game? -kinghalo34

 

It's been a hot topic around here lately, so it's possible.

 

Lots of players don't like playing Assault/Encounter battles and would prefer to opt out. Why does WG continue to implement this mode into maps despite people not liking them? -MaxChaos24

 

The chances of encountering this mode are set relative to its popularity. We don't want to remove it entirely because it brings gameplay variety and still has some players that enjoy it. 

 

Will there ever be a Report System added in-game? -MaxChaos24

 

No, each console has built-in feedback/reporting systems and their own policies on what players can and can't do. 

 

When are we getting national crew voices? -MaxChaos24

 

Sometime in 2017. We're in the middle of a huge audio upgrade right now that will make national crew voices much easier to implement. 

 

When will we be getting the Replay System? -MaxChaos24

 

Well, I've got a meeting tomorrow with the server guys in Sydney, so more info to follow.

 

How long until we're caught up with the PC version? -MaxChaos24

 

Both titles follow different development paths, so probably never.

Are there plans to add Clan Wars to PS4? - VIP-NicK

 

We're currently working on implementing tournaments. Anything we do for Clans would be built on top of that.

 

Any update on wheeled vehicles? - karpiu211

 

Nothing new to report, but we may have time this year to consider them.

 

Are there plans to allow players to customize their tanks with "wiggly bits?" - MaxChaos24

 

Yes, we plan to allow more placements and sizing for emblems and descriptions, as well as custom equipment, accessories and flags.

 

In a prior article, you mentioned that the team was looking into tournaments. Any update?  -MaxChaos24

 

Work on tournaments is going pretty well. We should be able to test them in Supertest right away.

 

Will Ranked Battles always be solo? Or can we expect a Team Ranked Battles mode. - MaxChaos24

 

We're just not sure yet. We're still testing the system and looking into what we can do to better match individuals. Once we're happy with that, it's possible we'll move onto Platoons and full teams.

Can we get a monthly report on over/underperforming tanks at different tiers?

 

Even with our data tracking and reporting, sifting through all our data to make sense of it is very time-consuming. However, tackling a single class and tier per month is reasonable. 

 

Can you put a cap on the number of TDs and Heavy tanks per team to 5?

 

We're looking at a number of matchmaking improvements this year, but with caution. Even a single added rule makes matchmaking more complex and can increase wait time. 

 

Can 4-5 member Platoons be matched against each other so they're the same tier?

 

That already happens if there are enough matching players in the queue. Unbalanced Platoon matchups happen when a matching platoon isn't available.

Will we ever get the Rheinmetall Skorpion G and T26e5?

 

Yes! We're shooting for later in the year. 

 

Any news on cross-platform play between PS and Xbox?

 

Nope, but more and more developers are pushing for it, so there's hope.

 

Any plans for new game modes?

 

Yes, but we're focusing on implementing tournaments first.  

 

Will we ever see friendly fire? 

 

It was the number one source of player abuse reports. We turned it off before release and we're still happy with that decision today. 

 

Will we ever receive dynamic stats in the Garage that reflect Crew and equipment?

 

Yes. That should be coming in one of the next few updates. 

 

Is the Heavy Tank No. VI be coming? 

 

Yes, later in the year around a certain holiday. 

 

When will we see low-tier Chinese, British, and Japanese Premium tanks? 

 

Not sure yet. We're working on our Premium tanks plan for the rest of the year.

I had gotten 3 medals at a decent rate of 1 per day but now I just played atleast 200 battles in 2 days without getting my 4th

 

again, RNG is not a good system to base the fatherland ops on, it wastes so much time for so many people. Many of which may not even get it.

 

Atleast give a heads up on probability next time
