Everyone say T-34-88 is really good, but it's just a VK30.01P top gun with a T-34-85 hull, so is it really worth paying 4000 gold?

I paid 6,500 for the T-34-88. It has remained my most played tank in the game for ages.

You are able to get it for 2,500 cheaper. Yes it is worth it.

One of the most versatile Mediums at that tier, given the best alpha gun at that tier for a Medium with no downsides because of that aside from the difference in penetration of the 88 to the 85. Coupled with more XP instead of a Silver bonus and duel-crew training.

There is pretty much nothing to dislike about the tank.

Paid 6500 for mine a year and a half ago. I'd say it's worth 6500 easily, so at 4000 I think a lot of people will be buying it. As Derpy says, you get high alpha for that tier on a very flexible platform, with pretty much no downsides for having that alpha.

Haven't got one, but you have the maneuverability of a T-34-85 and the punch from the short 88, that interests me.

Add in that it can train both German and Russian crews, and does so at an accelerated rate, also interests me.

Value is highly subjective, but 4000 gold isn't terribly expensive. The important things to consider are A. Do you want/need such a crew trainer; and B. Do you enjoy playing T34-85 type tanks?

I'm likely going to buy one.

It did have 30 days of premium included for the 6.500 Gold.

4,000 gold is an excellent price for this tank.

Definitely worth it...I was surprised they are offering it at such a reasonable price.

$20 in street money. A case of cheap beer. Fast food for two at the burger joint. A car wash and a shine and a tip for the kids/ immigrants. Oral gratification from a none too cute streetwalker (or so I am told).

Yeh. Probably worth it.

maybe the best reply of the month :great:

i guess I will get the tank and give up on prowling street corners to find Miss Right now

This is gonna be bad. Maybe not hammer bad but you're gonna see 34-88s all over the place and forumers fighting it out for top places and damage. Like, all the time.

Upside of potatoes buying it: MOE's easier.

Downside: I don't feel as special.

I personally enjoy the T-34-85 BUT I hate the Russian trademarked accuracy and pen. Seeing that the T-34-88 solves both problems I will buy it when it becomes purchasable with no bundles.

How the Germans got the 88 gun on an already cramped gun compartment is beyond my comprehension though....

It's a very good medium and it's worth it for sure. Especially if you run German and/or Soviet crews as it will train either. It's not a silver workhorse though so keep that in mind but you are essentially getting two very good crew trainers for 4,000 gold.

The tank is definitely fun, but can be troll quirky at times. Platoon into tier 9 matches for a real thrill ride, if you dare lol...
