Poll: In sniper mode turn the hull independently from turret (64 members have cast votes)

On consoles can we please get the option in sniper mode to turn the hull independently from the turret. It will make tanks more enjoyable to drive. If there is a problem with that, someone please explain. leave a comment

now that its no longer poll-only...

 

this should be the default functionality, we shouldnt need a toggle to enable such a basic option

Issue is becoming more noticed among the forum so hopefully WG takes a true notice to the frustration and makes at least an option to change it for players. Really hope they change it, can't wait to play some tanks with that function.

Not sure what you mean by that? It could still work both ways, keep the barrel view for a wider situation awareness moment/shot moment and the sniper view for those moments where you want to keep that weak point in view and make that sweet shot on a moving tank while keeping your own movement, or that perfect retreating shot.

The driver/gunner view that our sniper mode is based off of has the camera essentially "attached" to the turret and gun barrel. 

 

If you wanted the tank to react more like 3rd person or PC style, in order to facilitate the barrel graphics from getting in the way and blocking the camera you would have to remove the gun barrel from view entirely

none of what Soviet is saying makes sense....this was NOT an issue on the PC for years and years and years, why is it suddenly a problem on the consoles?

I didn't say it couldn't, I'm saying, that it would require dropping an immersive view

wait, so PC has no visible gun-barrels in any of their modes?

i dont play PC WoT(only maintain an acct) and only sometimes watch QB/jingles videos, so have I just missed that part?

so currently, in the zoomed-in view, you can't see the gun barrel on most tanks anyways....

 

you can see it in the "2nd level zoom", and of course on 3rd-person, but in 1st-person view most tanks dont show the barrel...

 

and the cursor moves anyway

 

So what's the issue?

All I'm saying is with how its currently set up on Console, I'm not sure how the view would react, to PCs uncoupled camera. In PC thier in tank view if I recall is more like 3rd person with none of the tank's turret and gun showing.

 

Essentially Console has the camera move statically with the turret and gun.

You could compromise

The hull movement is less jarring on gun view mode, but it's cripppling on second zoom.

Maybe change one but not t'other?

Though it's probably the same mechanic which is why we ended up with the crappy super zoom as they'd made the pretty gun mode and wanted to keep it.

 

At a pinch I'd lose the gun...though it is cool.
