We are in the middle of an in-game event with a free premium tank as a prize. To make things fair the handbrake should be de-activated on all control schemes until a proper fix can be sorted.

This. At least make it a toggle on/off so those of us that liked it could still use it.

Have you fixed the random server downtimes?

Kinda glad I have the Xbox one Elite controller. Mapped one of the paddles on the back to act as down on the Dpad using the Dpad handbrake default scheme. Means I can handbrake steer and control the camera all at the same time. :hiding:

I have an elite controller too and the paddles help, but since I use the driver config, no handbrake on paddle for me because you cannot map the triggers to a paddle. Seems a user customizeable button layout is sorely needed, since the defaults are not enough to make everyone happy / comfortable.

I liked the handbrake on the left stick. If your doing a control scheme without it can you do another one with it? And why was this not the first answer. The community have said over and over gives us the options!

^YES YES YES PLEASE!:great:

To solve the problem seems easy, have the original D-Pad configuration and have the new one with hand brake at controller stick.  Maybe they couldn't do this I don't know but seems pretty bad they took it away...

www.wotinfo.net has all the information you will need to be a better tanker a.k.a. weak spots, map knowledge and more.

Seems to me like the people having issues should learn to be less heavy handed. How do you accidentally click the stick in? There's plenty of resistance. That being said, the solution of just adding another control scheme of identical layout minus the handbrake would have been a far better solution. All that's been achieved here is handicapping a different bunch of people within the group using what is probably the most logical control layout

Sorry it effected your use in the D pad controller config. but there are many of us who are heavy thumbed that the hand brake on the stick ruined being able to play this game. The reason I use the D pad is due to having problems pushing down in the heat of battle. Other configs have cruise controls on stick and I was constantly engaging cruise control at the most inconvenient time.

I'm pretty ham fisted as far as the left stick goes. It's the 1st thing to start drifting to the left for me and this is my 3rd garbage Microsh_t gamepad in 2yrs but I had ZERO PROBLEMS w/the hand brake there.:amazed:

I'll speak for me. The older I get, my fine motor skills deteriorate. Additionally because of the kind of work I do, I don't have much feeling left in my thumb and forefinger of either hand. The D-Pad cruise setup for me allows me the ability to circle tanks without disengaging the CC because of clicking the LS accidentally.

The handbrake is a good idea. I feel pretty sure when they come up with a suitable fix, they will restore it

Edit:  Because of fat fingers I had to edit this post twice

Fixing the compass mini-map is more important than people fat-thumbing their handbrakes.

Where is compass fix?  (checks compass for accurate heading)

Maybe it is too close to see at this level of detail, but I can't seem to see the compass fix in here anywhere.

I don't get why this is worthy of a hotfix, but the compass issue is not.  There are literally already solutions in the form of system options to remap controller buttons on both next gen platforms, so this is a hotfix for a problem that anyone with a modicum of desire to resolve could fix themselves (excluding low tech plebs of course).

Could you squeeze in a compass mini map fix ? Restore it back to the old zoomed in compass mini map  :-)

compass fix and GTA style light tank physics tweak would have been nice

the new physics have also changed the driving characteristics of a lot of my tanks, so can i get a 10 gold refund for those crews which don't need clutch braking any more cos it makes their tanks handle like a honda civic on a skid pan?

Let's see, you did fix the hand brake.....ok, I know that is a big one.  But you fixed a tech tree drawing of the Lor 155, and a load in screen for the Billdog?......and left the compass map alone?  Gee where are my priorities...literally 2 things out of 3 I haven't seen asked for.  I just don't get it.

I saw the Hotfix and thought, Finally and then noticed no map change. Come on WG we are all waiting for the cone to be removed/ altered and the old cone that's only attached to camera view to be brought back!

Hello all!

We have just released a new override to address several issues in 3.5. If you haven't done so already, you'll need to exit the game and re-launch in order to grab the override.

1. D-Pad Cruise Control Scheme: We have removed the Handbrake from the this control scheme. With this change made, we will be collecting feedback on possible new Control layouts that will include a Handbrake in a future update. But for now, we just wanted the handbrake gone so you can get back to playing without accidentally hitting the brake.

2. Driver Control Scheme: We've updated the control picture to show how to activate the Handbrake for this scheme.

3. Fixed the British Bulldog loading screen.

4. Fixed the Lorr. 155 50 icon in the tech tree.

Please consider adding a visual that shows when the handbrake is applied. Maybe near the reload reticle to make it easy to see if your accidentally applying the handbrake without having to take your eyes off target. If not there, then maybe somewhere on the speed / cruise control on/off indicators.

i dont understand peoples problems with the handbrake on left stick. wouldnt that mean they had a problem with always using cruise control before

the handbake was introduced. why do they complain now?

I can't see if this has been said already, but couldn't you guys do both for this?

Scanning this thread makes it obvious there are people that are happy with the removal, and people who are annoyed (I'm in the latter actually).

I don't know if it could be a hotfix for this hotfix, but can an additional control scheme be implemented? So you would have D-pad cruise with handbrake, and D-pad cruise without handbrake. Then people who like the handbrake on the stick can use it, whilst WG is free to fiddle around with the non-handbrake option. If it is not too much work I think this would be a win-win.

EDIT: maybe even make a permanent "experimental" layout? People can use this if they want when you want to test out other new features. If a lot of people end up using it you can see that as a succes.

I've suggested a alt d pad cruise control with a hand brake but I doubt it will come to be, it was the simplest and easiest hand brake to use you can engage it AND turn AND aim all at the same time buuuuuuuut people can't use it and mash sticks so now anyone who had that because they are comfortable with it can't use the new big selling point feature.

Good job removing the only handbrake that made sense. Give us the option to have it on left stick down. Down on the d pad is way too out of the way and impractical.

It was transparent before and didn't have a white line showing turret direction. I know what it was been playing it for 6 years
