Well, after about two years of shooting mainly premium ammo paid for by purchasing silver packages, I'm not spending cash on this game for a while.  I'm not sure how long.  I'm eliminating my $100 per month tanks budget due to the previous OP.  I may still shoot premium rounds on tanks that need them or have a special premium round that is necessary in a tight spot.  But they will have to be paid for with silver earned through my premium tanks.  I'm also going to have to eliminate food and 105 octane consumables I've used on many tanks.

It's going to be an adjustment, for sure.  I'm used to losing between 10-70k silver every match.  Every single match.  Some tanks like the Pz I C I lose 130k+ silver. Premium 8s I usually make like 10k.  I'm not sure how much of an adjustment it will be.  I think some tanks won't be as good as I remember them.  Spamming premium in the T-43 or the Excelsior make those tanks pretty darn good, among others.  Premium also makes up for bad accuracy, movement dispersion, or poor aim time in some tanks.  Just let it fly and if it hits, you're getting a pen.

Other tanks might actually work better for me with AP.  I've found that I do much better in my 268 shooting AP instead of HEAT.  I really only do well shooting HEAT in the T-54, and that is because it has high pen HEAT plus a fast RoF.  I bounced a ton of shots spamming HEAT in the 268 and Jageroo.  So in those cases, it's going to be a plus to use the normal AP.  I used the 268 a lot for the OP, and I was doing pretty good damage with AP before I started going YOLO grind.

I'm wondering just how much of an adjustment it will be?  In the last two years, my WN8 has hovered around 2300-2500.  My 11 month WN8 for Feb '16 - Jan '17 was like 2475 before wotinfo lost those stats.  My own informal estimate as to the boost I got from spamming premium was about 15%.  So I'm looking at losing 300-400 points of my WN8.  But the last experiment I did to see what the boost was happened two years ago, and I've gained skills since then.  Maybe it won't be as bad.

As a unrepentant, unapologetic premium spammer, It's going to be an adjustment.  And all bets are off if I'm wasted drunk.  I probably won't be able to keep myself from hitting A.  But there will be no more cash to fund this, so I have to be moderate in my use of premium now.  We'll have to see how much the game changes and how well I'll do.

Meh. Lots of times you would probably still pen with AP, as you're not one to just sit there and try to slug it out with folks (well ... most of the time, lel).

You'll be fine. And you'll have more money for beer and beef jerky.

May I ask as to WHY?

Not why you're changing, but why in the world would you ever do such a thing to begin with (spend so much on a game/use premo shells so often)?

As someone who barely ever uses premium ammo (although now that I have my wonderful top tier Cent 7/1 the world is my oyster) I can't understand this. I might stick a premium shell in the chamber now and then but almost all of my games I can do well without. And using fuel and stuff? I have some through ops but bugger that temptation, I'd rather have an extra repair kit. I really can't imagine spending $100 per month on this game. I hate to sound whiney and I know some will say, well if you enjoy it, but that much a month on a game is obscene. Good on you for stopping that silliness but my goodness how did you get into such a habit?

I would usually save gold for the big packages and then buy in bulk.  Last week I bought the 15k gold 10 million silver package twice.

I have more money than time.  I get to play about 2-4 hours on one to three nights per week, then play maybe 6 hours on the weekend.  When you only have time to play for maybe 8-10 hours in a week, maybe 300 games a month, it makes sense rather than grinding the silver to buy it.  I can spend an hour grinding like 1 million silver in a tier 8 premium, or I can buy 10 million silver for $60.   That's 1 million silver for 6 bucks.   My time is worth a lot more than $6-$12 per hour.

All the money per month wasn't for premium ammo and consumables.  I did also buy premium tanks, which a have a lot.  I stopped counting at like 65.  Half of the hundred was for silver usually, and half was for new premiums.  So I estimate that I shot about 7-8 million silver in premium ammo and consumables per month.

I appreciate that, am kind of in the same boat myself, but using prammo as a default just does not make sense to me. Many times you will face a red who is a tier lower than you or at the same tier than you but in a lightlier armoured vehicle, in which case prammo is not. needed. If you use prammo only when facing higher tier tanks or more heavily armoured equal-tier tanks, or when in a circle of death where you really want every round to pen, you will make silver from just playing, even with non-premium tech tree tanks.

I know guys that don't have jobs that take up as much time as mine does, or they don't have scheduled family/girlfriend time.  I hang out with my girlfriend sunday nights after she gets off work, and also 1-2 nights during the week when she's off.

I don't have kids, and I don't have any pets.  I guess you could say my tanks are my pets.  I probably spend less per month than my mom does on her dog and cat.

If I was still a college student, I wouldn't even think of buying silver.  I'd have more than enough time to grind it.  And I feel for those guys with families and jobs where they can't afford to buy the silver, but have very little time to grind it.

I do feel really weird, though, that I've spend over $5k on a video game, not including gift cards for Christmas or Birthdays.

$100 per month x 3 years = $3,600.00

$3,600.00 / 14,188 games = $0.25 per game

Not a bad investment, depending on how you look at it.

Well, that's just the per month.  The first 6-9 months I played I actually spent more than $100 per month, because i was building up a huge garage of premium tanks, plus I was shooting gold FOR gold.  I didn't know about premium for silver until I had been on the forum for a couple months.

I estimate it has cost me about 33-35 cents per game to play tanks.  Not too bad, because back in the day at the arcade the games were 25-50 cents.  And that was in mid '80s to mid 90's money.

That's why I didn't.  The only earn-able tank I bought was the Boilermaker because I needed to train Brit crews.  The 2x crew XP for the whole OP was great.

But for me, these ops are not about the tanks.  I earned the Motherland and played it 13 times before this Soviet OP started.  They are more like trophies for accomplishing things in the game.  I played my Centennial like 5 times up until a few weeks ago.  If I didn't earn a Fatherland, I didn't want one.

Basically my view here in Asia.  I can spend $100 in one night at the bars and clubs here dealing with the street animals/'working women' or I can spend it on tanks that will last longer and not get me a case of HIV. Since my gf left last month, she started working in a bar and became a bar girl, means more time and money for me.  As for family have around 100 students I teach English too.

Anyway time and money with not much to do.

Some premium tanks become OP when you spam premium out of them.  One of the ways WG balances premium tanks is to nerf the pen on them, and prammo gets rid of that nerf.

Do you have a Lowe?
It doesn't make enough to cover all your premium consumables, but it'll cover the ammo.
I use it to generate silver for equipment on all my tanks.

I only spend gold on tanks and premium time. I never buy silver or convert XP.
