Don't one shot much above 4. I know the rng lol, but the most common 6's I run into are Shermans and I go ping, wait 30 seconds and go ping again. It will get better...was just frustrated not being able to do anything lol

You're doin it wrong.
Get the top (150mm?) gun and buy a full loadout of HE rounds. You will damage everything you hit - no penetration required - and one-shot about half the enemy team.

Get a KV2. Ditch the japanese box and go with the golden standard of derp.

Yes.
Weirdly, the KV-2 is smaller, more maneuverable/agile, and easier to hide (peek-a-boom).

What Portable Nuke said.

I don't really have any problems even when bottom tier.  The derp gun cares little about armor.  That is not to say it is on the same level as a tier viii heavy.  You are a tier vi tank.

But you should be far from useless.

Kind of necroing this with a semi-tangential question, but why does the O-I's 10cm gun come with 100 shells? It only shoots (baseline) 5 shots per minute. In a 15-minute match, that's 75 rounds, maximum. Even using the run rammer, you only shoot 6 shots/minute, which is 90 shots. And both of those are if your finger is constantly pulling on the trigger, from the start of the match all the way to the end of a time-out draw. How does this make mathematical sense?

Be verbose - you have a vocabulary for a reason.

You could fire 100 rounds in War Stories. ... might take a while, but you wouldn't need the ammo checkpoints. :)

Of course! Why didn't I think of that?! :teethhappy:

It does make me wonder if there's some benefit to going into battle without a full ammo stockpile, other than trying to go for that one medal where you destroy the last enemy with your last round.

Ok... opinions...

I bought the O-I because I absolutely LOVED the Exp.  Might be my favorite tank.  But I am not loving the O-I.  It's slower, the armor still isn't anything to brag about and it uses the same gun as the Exp.  I also LOVE the KV-2 so I figured, "can't go wrong!"  The 150 doesn't hit as hard as the KV-2 AND takes longer to reload.  Am I missing something?  For people with experience in this line, should I just sell it and recoup what silver I can?  Is it worth grinding it out to tier VII or is the O-Ni just more of the same?

The armour is pretty good, i'd say, frontally anyway, it's better than the KV2 and and doesn't have that huge goofy turret you can pen from all angles.

I'm saying that based on facing off against both in over 2000 games at tier six.

The Oni is a mixed bag. Same decent frontal armour but the gun selection is either a faster firing 10cm which is improved from the previous tanks or the 15cm derp which has a really long reload, which is fine in the OI as you're not constantly facing stuff like Tigers and IS etc. I ran it with both but much preferred the 10cm as the DPM was acceptable and it rips right through your fellow Tier 7s. Often caught out some Tigers that thought they would rush me as I had the derp gun. It does have additional weak spots, the turrets are easy to pen and the shoulders are weak (same continues for the rest of the line from that point).

The OHo I hated, the stupid mini turrets limit your gun depression massively and the gun just isn't cutting it at Tier8-10 enough. The 10cm is kinda toothless at higher tiers despite the high DPM so the 15cm is the only real option. It's got a much faster reload but I just couldn't deal with the gun depression.

I played with the Type 4 and nearly finished the grind but just found it too frustrating, or at least not consistent enough, the reload is absolutely glacial with the DPM non existent and the gun not really doing the advertised alpha enough to really scare people off. The biggest gripe for me is the comically weak ammo rack in the cheeks.

Probably closer to 4k games in tier six, Wotinfo seems to be lying.

You know, kind of a silly question, but it's been bugging me. How does everyone pronounce this tank's name? Do you guys say Oh-Aye or Oh-Ee?

Never like to see a Japanese heavy coming straight at me at close range, whatever tier it is.

Side on however...

If it is by itself, it might be THE easiest tank on the game to kill.

I pronounce it as oh-aye, but technically it should be oh-ee.
