Was the stream saved? Looked on twitch and the World of Tank Console Developer Stream UPDATE 3.6 is of Tragicloss playing pc wot. Maybe I am doing something wrong?

I'll use this spot for my biggest question - Any update on the timeline for rolling out in-client tournament functionality?  Can you give us any details yet on what form and functions it will include?  Will it have a 'back-side' for those running the events and a 'front-side' for team captains and players?  I could go on and on, but you get the idea.

Hello! We are working with both console companies (Microsoft and Sony) to get in-client tournaments working this year. There will be systems for players to form teams and register as well as “back-side” systems to notify players when to be where to compete (as well as how to handle no-shows, reporting results, etc.). We have been testing our tournament systems daily in our development environments for a while now and are excited to get them in front of the players as soon as they are ready this year.

The Swedish line’s biggest challenge is technical. Due to the special functionality the tanks have (siege mode) we need to make sure our controls and systems handle all the aspects. You may have noticed that our controller has 100% of its buttons used; it’s a challenge to make these systems awesome and controllable (as well as just implementing them). Once we are happy with the implementation we can announce their release. Not until then.

Are there going to be anymore solid color camouflage options? 

We are always evaluating an implementing camo! You may have noticed we released new camo for the UK like and the Czech line in 3.6. Expect more to come!

Hi! Some questions:

1.Will there be changes in the sound of the game?

a.Yes! We are working on a complete overhaul of the game’s sound “engine” (the core code that runs all the audio). Once that is in we have grand plans for SFX, VO, and all other aspects of the audioscape of the game. Stay tuned!

2.Changes in the matchmaking too?

a.I can’t speak to any specifics here. Is there a specific matchmaker question?

3.The french tier IX Lorraine will be substituted? And the tier X Bat Chat, in the same line, becames IX for a new tier X tank?

a.If I understand the question correctly: we will not be removing any tank when we re-organize the tech tree(s). They may become premiums or stay on the trees when the new tanks are added (case by case basis).

4.What are the changes of the 3.6 update?

When are we going to see clan wars, team battles, personal missions, t8 ranked battles like in wows, strongholds, and just more game play options in general? As it is now what is the point in grinding without any of these options? As of now a person might as well not even grind past t5 since that's the extent of ranked here. A straight answer please

Honestly we have no current plans for any of these. We are seeing healthy engagement in all tiers and progressions in the game and are focused on Ranked Battle improvements, tournaments, and other endeavors right now.

Answer from PAINGODRanked Battles and Tournaments will be supporting higher tiers.  While we won’t be adopting personal missions exactly like PC, look to May for a new tiered earn Op that may scratch that itch.

Here are my questions(in no particular order of personal importance):

1)Can we get some more information about the rumored/quasi confirmed Tier 8 premium SPG?

a.No comment J

2)What is the timeline for Clan support(i.e. wars, strongholds, rewards)?

3)What about personal missions with reward tanks?

a.See above answer for Kaystonian’s question

4)Lag has made the game virtually unplayable at times.  What is being done to address the issue and is there any guarantee it can be substantially alleviated for the future?

a.We monitor both lag and framerate on all three consoles (XB360, XBOne, PS4) and have records of the performance across all regions as well. When we see issues we do our best to fix them or work with the Console Provider (Microsoft / Sony) to make the experience what it needs to be. One of the things that makes this challenging is the amount of variables involved. Hardware in use, physical location(s) of the players, global net traffic, XBL and PSN traffic, DDoS attacks, etc. all influence the performance and require vigilance on our part to keep on top of. I can’t tell you a global, permanent lag improvement is on the horizon. I can promise you we monitor these things and make constant adjustments and changes to improve issues we see.

5)Will WG console work to stay in step with PC in regards to features, balance changes, tech trees, and contests/events?  A certain amount of exclusive content is just fine because helps keep the experiences unique; I just feel there should be more cross-platform consistency.

a.Do you have a specific example you are think of? We talk to the PC team constantly and often trade ideas or features both ways (them to us and vise-versa). World of Tanks Console is its own game (as is WOT PC) and often ideas or features are worked on at different times or are just not appropriate for one of the two games.

6)When nation bundles are offered(in nations that have hero tanks) would it be possible to select just one version of the tank that has a hero skinned counterpart?  Some people don't like being forced to buy duplicate tanks.  For example: I wanted to buy the France mega bundle because I really wanted a CDC.  The FCM 50T is also a tank I wouldn't mind having in my garage.  But I don't want to buy a 50T AND a Liberte because they're the same tank!

a.Interesting idea I will pass to our events team. The development team makes the features, tanks, assets, etc. be the best they can be. The actual sales planning and store offerings are not in our purview. We do have opinions and share ideas, but ultimately what appears in the store is not something the dev team has direct control over. I’ll talk to them tho, I promise.

Long story short I like Dpad cruise control the way it is. I like having two buttons, one for forwards CC and one for backwards CC.  I also really enjoyed having handbrake for the little bit of time I was able to try it out before you hotfixed it out of the game.

So what I am asking is there any chance you could just add a handbrake toggle, just like you have a toggle for inverted reverse driving, and add handbrake back to the left stick click on the default Dpad CC control scheme??

In 3.6 we added even more control schemes for handbrake. Take a look at them. There are now nine options to choose from and I hope one of them scratches your itch. Based on your comment I think “Handbrake D-Pad Cruise Control” would be something you like.

How about dynamic platoon like PC version does have?

We are looking into improving our platoon systems right now. We aren’t going to add this specific feature any time soon but we will see what it would take.

For this update based on information in the announcement I have to ask:

What can we expect to see as the major change in gameplay on these maps? You say the maps have been "redesigned for balance and better gameplay" What sort of "better gameplay" are you envisioning? Is this a new game direction or philosophy as to how WGCB looks at overall game balance and how they feel the game should be played?

We adjust maps primarily by moving spawn points and base locations first to adjust balance.

As for more invasive edits, I will point to the new port map which has the majority of the train tracks removed and replaced with buildings. That change was drastic but often requested by the players and will be a significant balance change.

I would like to see some improvements done to the zoom.

1. An option to always start at the first stage of zoom, when you get in sniper-view.

2. An added stage of zoom to both, the sniper and the 3rd person-view.

To zoom out further would help to get a better overview and to zoom in more would help to snipe a little better.

For arty NERF: we don’t wholesale take PC balance changes (which that team makes for what is right for that game). We look at the performance of both the tanks themselves AND the tanks they play against. There is no current plans in World of Tanks Console to globally nerf Arty at all. Any adjustments we do make will be carefully considered and communicated to the players when they happen.

Would it be possible to add more favorites tabs to sort tanks using the garage filter?  Is there a limit on the number of favorites tabs that could be added?  Would it be possible to sort tanks by Mastery badges or MoEs?  Camo vs no Camo?

Interesting. Gives you more control of what tanks you see at any one time. We will look into it.

Would it be possible to add back the highest BASE xp earned on a tank back onto the stats page on the website?  (you can keep the highest total xp)

Will we get a Lunar mode with the new physics?  Togboats that flip (drown)?

Ah the lunar. Honestly we are wondering if custom event modes like Lunar and Tog Boat and Specter are even interesting to you players. We may even stop doing them. Any thoughts there?

Would it be possible to change artillery so you can play two at once in a match--switching between your arties?

Very interesting. Would you take up 2 slots in your team’s roster of 15? Never thought of this before.

I personally LOVE bounty events. There are no current plans to do one but I’ll bring it up and see what happens. They take a lot of work and its hard to give enough coverage so that everyone has a chance to kill a bounty; but we shall see.

Could we get some kind of notification when a tech tree tanks is going to be removed and replaced with a premium tank?  I just want to make sure I have it in my garage when it is replaced.

​-->I think most of the forum feels it probably shouldn't be the highest priority.  I enjoyed the last Halloween event, though I was outgunned in the Japanese event.  I think more people would participate and appreciate it if the crew training element was better--like the old 3x and 5x weekends.  Even 2x all weekend in the event would be great.  Maybe make them not so tied to a holiday but xp oriented weekends or new player weekends.  It is hard to play around the holidays sometimes. 

 

Maybe make something more historically--around a remembrance day or a battle or operation.  Reenactment against smarter bots--hordes?  5 Tigers against 40 T-34s or Shermans?  Maybe mix in some other live players in the hordes?

 

The events add depth to the game in general, so their loss may not be immediately felt but would probably contribute to a feeling of lack of content.

​-->I assumed it would, but, if it didn't, then you would need to restrict the total number of arties.  Otherwise you could have a match with 10 regular tanks and 10 arties!  Would allow you to nerf individual arties and make it more an artillery system., which is probably more how the vehicles were designed to act.
