Of the 100 or so games I played so far the ratio of tanks in play has been about 5 to 1 in favor of Japan. I know WG is weighing the event based on tanks played but the sheer number of Japanese tanks just gives them more of a chance to get completions.

For my first 3 completions I only played tier IV and V Japanese tanks and got those in a couple of hours. Then as the competition ramped up I moved to the higher tiers, i.e. Heavies, STA-1/2 and STB.

I'm in the same boat. I'm playing Czechs but I'm seeing way more Japanese tanks out there.

Finding better results with t 24, t 40, the pen and mobility helping.

Shoot, move, reset.

Fighting retreat against japenese heavyweights. The Czechs have better view range or the heavies just have no camo.

Been my best strategy.

My heavies carry a medium crew with optics, the skills give them the max view range 9 times out of 10, and I have most, if not all, driving skills. Never got outplayed by a Czech tank once

Awesome, how many completions did you rack up so far?  I got 10 in the Skoda T 25.

UPDATE:

Results from Mar. 17-19: Japan vs Czechoslovakia! are in and the winning team is.....

Team JAPAN!!!! Congratulations!

Team JAPAN! advances to the "Final IV!"

JAPAN: 49807

CZECH: 33521

The average completions per player were

JAPAN: 1.33

CZECH: .89

The Czechs got less than one completion per player. Now we know for sure that even without a completion, just completing the selection op puts you in the total. Japan could surprisingly turn out to be a tough contender in the final round. For average completions, they beat the British tanks from round one. Only the American tanks from that round had a higher average completion, 1.39.

For those keeping track at home, so far the average completions from each round are:

America - 1.39 (Round 1)

Japan - 1.33 (Round 3)

UK - 1.31 (Round 1)

France 1.14 (Round 2)

China - 1.03 (Round 2)

Czech - 0.89 (Round 3)

^^^^^yep, bunch of sorry players logged in for Czech, then didn't do a thing.  Yes, I have a lil salt going on.  I'll get over it though as the op made me like the Sk T 25, just under 3 marks, and added two skills to my crew.  So, all is not lost.

That's crazy when you think about it. Myself and a number of other Czech players scored over 10 completions. That means that there were probably 70 to 100 other players that didn't even score one completion to balance out the ratio.

It would be interesting to see the ratios if we set a minimum completion to 1, eliminating the participants that, we'll,  didn't participate.

Dogmeat, I agree, and is puzzling that with so many Japan tanks per match, they were competing with each other to get completions.  Shocking, but it is what it is.

10 + completions for the Czechs.

I can see how frustrating it was. The lack of skills on the crews probably did not help.

Japan is a real contender.

I hope there is a rematch in the near future. Perhaps 3 months from now the Czechs will put up stiffer competition.

That was an overall beatdown...ouch

I will say this- the Japanese line has been (IMO) the easiest to score with. I know everyone is different, but I have been on three winning teams so far, and in order of ease-

1. 'Murika. This was a grind for me, but just because of my currently owned tanks. I had to end up seal clubbing a little in my Blitzen.

2. France. I thought it would be easy, because I love my 13-90 and 50-100, but it took a little while. Given my struggles, and how much the lower tiers can really suck, I am not surprised. Definitely not a final four contender.

3. Japan. Seriously, it's hard not to score with a Kaiju and an OI. And if I still had my OI-Exp?

Japanese heavies are user-friendly; sure, some battles you might get crushed, etc. But they always have the potential to dish it out. I am completely unsurprised.

They were competing with everyone. The fact there were so many Japanese tankers just meant that every game one of them was guaranteed to get at least some points. On the other hand, the Czechs, being so outnumbered, could probably go for long stretches without earning a single point.

yeah, but the ones that didn't score had to get points at some time competing against their own nation again.  There were very few matches that I didn't score a point.  Most were 5 with 2nd and 3rd place factored in.  Someone put up a thread dominating with the T 40.  Dogmeat evidently did great too, so it's hard to gather that there were so many crappy Czech players

The sad part for Czech, I played for Japan. But when I got tired of my Japanese tanks for a break, ran my Czech T24, T25, and T40 for some crew training. Would have gotten 5 completions just from the crew training exercises.

Instead I put up 8 for Japan.

Did not work as hard for the completions as I was mostly grinding my Type 61, which spent an inordinate amount of time in Tier X. I think since Friday night, it may have been top tier 1% of all the battles I played in it. So completions were a bit tougher.

Yes there were 2 of us in the tier 10, and one in a tier 9. We werent always platooned so not always competing with each other for points. I averaged 5200 damage a match, getting up to 7k one game and no lower then 3500, and I had a family emergency on Sunday so didn't play. Gives you an idea where I was at.

I would agree that the japanese side would have been easier, anyone can hop in a tier 5 or 6, load he and rb+rt. Not the case for the few people that have gone up the Czech line.

I would like to see a breakdown for points earned per tier.

T50 vs the type 61 and tvp t50/51 vs stb1 in particular.

In saying that, Japan also has 2 lines going for itself.

Why I feel a breakdown of the points, tiers, and tanks would be very interesting to see.

I agree.

Any info on how the tanks performance compared to each other per tier?
