when a flank is falling and my artillery is tunneling across the map (like they always do) I will ping him to fall back and follow me along with a few bumps and nudges to get his attention. Sometimes they say negative and stuff and probably look at me all hateful and funny like.  

I'm hoping that I don't get them angry and having them report me for physics abuse and whatnot because I'm just trying to help. 

Rarely will one actually pay attention and have me help push him out of harms way but most of them just sit there and probably get mad at me for botching their tunnel visioning shot. 

 

I'm just trying to help them and be a team player and stuff ya know.

 

do any of you do the same?

Yes. If I'm still alive at that point.
When I'm playing arty myself, (as I always keep an eye on the map) when I see a flank is open, I will bump and tell the other surviving arty it's time to run. They don't often listen though and at that point, I use them as an indicator of how fast the reds are advancing. (as in, when he's dead, the reds are closing in)

If an Arty player does not realise that A. The flank is falling or B. Notice that once myself or someone else has attempted to bring it to their attention, then they are beyond help and wasting time trying to get them to realise they have to move is not a move I intend to ever make.

Most of the time I wouldn't even be close enough to have LoS on the friendly Arty, let alone be in a position to try to shove them to get their rear in gear.

I'm running around in my scout trying to take shots and spot things. but when a flank is falling there is little to nothing I can do to sop it myself. so instead of having them just run over our base and get a free arty kill I try to help him fall back and push him if need be.

Yeah, that is just silly that time could be spent doing better things then trying to get a stubborn arty to move.

yep purdy much. if he doesn't start getting the message after a few seconds I just let the reds get a free kill and silently giggle at his stupidity

no it wouldn't. helping my artillery fall back to a safe location so he can stay effective in battle is more important than me just running away to leave him to die. I've got all the speed to relocate anywhere anyway and I'm going to use that speed to help the less fortunate if I can.

But I thought arty was all knowing and had full map awareness??? At least when I have one on my team with a mic, I'm told to believe that. ;)

who said anything about running away? each to their own i guess, you wouldn't catch me doing that as it is just pointless no matter how you try to justify it.

well if you're in a tier 5 light tank and you think you can brawl with 3 tier 8 heavies and a TD then more power to you. I know I can't.

I will ping on arty's location, or tell them to fall back though. Early-mid game, sometimes but rarely late.

 

Sometimes I'll tell this arty to fall back, but they don't, they're more tunnel visioned on clicking than being situationally aware

You bump an arty that is lining up a shot?

 

Depends, if its one of the fast french Lorr's, and he just fired, then no harm. If it's an S-51 with massive aim time, and moves like a slug, then you don't touch them.

I've had people that radial me to fall back when I use the S-51, but the S-51 isn't going anywhere fast. You die in place, or sometimes you get to shotgun blast somebody on your way out.

Hopefully I wouldn't have to have a nudge to get out of there. Then again if I have tunnel visioned myself into that mess, prepare for shotgunning mode.

Nah, I'll ping the red closest to em, even do a buzz by the reds and ping em again. If arty doesn't respond then the pumpkin chucker is on their own. Chances are if said arty isn't paying enough attention to realize their about to be over run, then they wouldn't be much help late match anyway. To busy tunnel visioned on the strong flank and not the weak flank. 

That's a clicker mistake, not a scout mistake. ;)

The only time I am close enough to green arty is when I am trying to leave the base and the idiot will 9 times out of 10 back right into me or block my path out of the spawn.

Arty should wait until the real tanks are clear before blockig and getting in everybody's way.

 

After that I rarely see the green Arty.

I also rarely see their shells dropping on the flanks or areas it is needed the most.

 

When I hear "All Allied Artillery elimnated!", that is my indication to check our base for the reds. Outside of that, Arty really has no use to my team.
