I wasn't sure where to post this so I posted it here in off topic thread.

Beware that I am not best of best player but these are tactics that I use on M4 Sherman the tank is good tank if it is used right so take advantage of these tips.

1.On the frontlines play peek-a-boo with other tanks.

What do I mean by peek-a-boo find yourself some cover if there is enemy tank on other side. Duck out of cover wait for circle to shrink (or getting close to stop) then take a shot then get back into cover and wait for reload.

Because the armor on M4 Sherman is not all great even if you angle it so beware.

2.Guns

You want to research 105mm howitzer this gun on M4 Sherman can ruin somebody day on enemy team beware that gun has slow slow reload on it but when you see your opponent take damage from 105mm I can’t help it but to have smile on my face due to damage I caused. Sometimes you'll be lucky if you one shot kill tank destroyer or artillery I witness couple of my kills that were one shot kills.

The next gun you want to be researching is 76mm this is final upgrade for M4 Sherman though the gun doesn’t pack a punch like 105mm does this gun does have fast reload to it.

3.Equipment for M4 Sherman

Go with these equipment gun rammer, wet ammo rack, medium spall liner, enhanced vertical coil springs, enhanced gun laying drive and Improved Ventilation Class (that is once crews are added to the game.)

4.Scout

Though medium tanks are not recommended to do light tanks job but what if there isn’t any light tanks? Or just a few well some of medium tanks will have to step up and help out light tanks.

The M4 Sherman A1 which appears in U.S. tech tree has somewhat of the speed of a scout once fully upgraded. The engine that says Wright Continental R-975C4 is a good engine on the M4 Sherman however the 76mm will take away sliver of the attack power. The M4 Sherman speed on flat terrain can go up higher than thirty miles per hour going down hill increases the speed on M4 Sherman.

5.Work with heavy tanks (by flanking enemy heavy tanks)

They are big and slow and need some protection.

6.Consumables

Go with repair kit, first aid kit, fire extinguisher (just in case your ronson or tommy cooker catches on fire) and case of cola (that is once again crews are added to the game.)

M4 Sherman isn’t best tank but that’s what U.S. had for best of best till M26 Pershing made its appearance at very near end of the war.

Over time I will update this post in case if I miss anything.

Worth mentioning that the M4 has a pretty decent gun mantlet, so you can bounce a pretty reasonable amount of shots if you go hulldown, and unlike the Pz. IV, you actually have the gun depression to do it.

It was my favorite money maker in the beta! And it just looks so cool too.i got rid of all my tanks at the end of the beta and kept just my m4 and jumbo Sherman.

I've seen many people disparage the M4, but I adore that tank. It has a great balance for a tier V medium and the 105 derp gun is a ton of fun.

I always had my highest victory percentage in the M4; around 63 percent after 300 battles. Even after I got the M48, I still went back to the Sherman from time to time.

Indeed the M4 Sherman is fun... I hope to see another sibling of the M4 Sherman the Easy Eight (it doesn't matter if they add it in tech tree or not or be limited purchase tank in the store) and I hope the training maps are added because I would like to honor my grandfather Korean War vet by making training map related to Korean War because lot of Easy Eights saw service in Korea.

I'd love to see an Easy Eight and a Firefly as well.

My advice would be to not even bother with the last gun on the M4, just use the 105 and derp everything!

The M4 is an excellent "coin grinder" :coin: You can make $$ even if you lose the battle as long as you "mix it up" with the enemy team.

Gun Rammer/Vents/Liner or Stabilizer

I had over 350K xp on my Sherman M4 when the BETA ended.

don't forget about the awesome gun depression on the 76, you can hull down like a t29

The Jumbo is my favorite all around tank. With a rammer, it's a hammer. Runs fast, shoots fast, and hits pretty hard with a 76mm.

Teamwork is essential; it gives the enemy someone else to shoot at.
