I am genuinely shocked that this is even a question. CAX is so far ahead of the fatton

I'm sure the poll results are skewed by personal performance. Some people do better in one than the other, so for them, that's the answer.

I don't know about the Patton, but don't get shot in the AX. At all. You may get the odd bounce here and there, but it's basically paper. Also, the front of the tank is constructed entirely of exposed ammunition packed tightly with gun cotton and flint. You will be ammo racked frequently.

Yeah, I figured this out the hard way from playing the Centurion AX when it was new. At least enemy AXs seemed to have pretty good armor.

For those of you with experience with both these tanks, I'm curious which you think is better. I've been having alot of fun playing the M46 Patton and am wondering if the M48 after it is worth it, or if I'm better off buying back my Centurion AX. How do the two compare to each other in game? From the stats of both, it seems like they both have somewhat bouncy frontal armor and similar speed/mobility, with the CAX being better at sniping and the M48 being better at flanking/playing second line support, but I realize far stats aren't everything. So, which is better?

Spoiler

The Fatton is slow for a medium

cax is much more maneuverable

cax standard rounds seem to be sufficient for nearly anything

fatton seems more fun to play

It seems like the Centurion AX is generally seen as better, but I would like to ask a couple questions. One, how do the armor on the two compare? One thing I didn't like about the Centurion AXwais how weak the armor felt. And two, is the grind on the M48 Patton very bad, or does that first 105mm gun work fine on it?

M48 Patton has enough armor where tanks can't just auto aim you unless they have super high penetration. The turret is bouncy in some zones. The upper hull armor is very troll since it is so well rounded.

I free xp the top package so can not say anything about the "grind". The gun on the Patton though is just heavenly. Just point and shoot. No need to wait for your gun to aim in. It has same dispersion of a t62a except it is not as fast so the dispersion (recticle bloom) is even better. AX I felt had bad bloom making those clutch shots miss more often than not.

You would like the M48 Patton. The gun handling plus DPM makes that tank.

It's in the bag for the Centurion, but it's closer than I figured it would be.

Yeah, you get to bounce your APCR round, have their tracks and view ports eat your HEAT round, and splash your HESH round for 100 damage.

Not as good as the 7/1's HESH with 210 pen, but still better than the HE on most tanks.

Quite honestly I prefer having the high pen HEAT over the "Premium" HESH the 7/1 gets. There isn't a whole lot the Premium HESH will pen the Standard HESH doesnt, they do the same damage, and the Standard is a whole lot cheaper. For the extra cost I prefer to have the option of punching through heavy armor.

If you are good at making use of good gun handling, M48 Patton is clearly the better tank. If you are clunky with your ability to properly aim and use those sticks on the controller, AX is better since it's more of an all-rounder generic tank.

I really enjoy the M48 Patton because of the excellent on-the-move accuracy it has. I really cannot say for the Brtish Centurion but I will go through it when...I finish...Yeah it's going to be awih

All those who say the AX is complete paper armor are wrong. The turret is plenty reliable as long as you don't start trying to bounce Tier X TD's. Even then if you use proper bobbing techniques they'll have a hard time hitting your weak spots (hatch and forehead), and if you make use of the luxurious 10 degrees of gun depression, the turret becomes almost entirely a ricochet. But that's just a safety blanket - with good accuracy, gun handling, pen, and speed, you should be peeking out to shoot the enemy from range and back behind cover before they know what hit them. And I can't emphasize enough how good it is to have that gun depression. Even over small rises in the terrain, the Centurion can shoot and retreat before a Russian tank could even bring its gun to bear.

Admittedly I haven't played the Patton. Seems to me that it's similar, with worse accuracy somewhat balanced out by incredible gun handling. But while the Centurion isn't small, the Patton is a gargantuan target. And if we want to talk turret armor, we can't ignore the infamous tumor on the Patton. Sure it can be mitigated by a skilled player but the fact of the matter is that the Patton has worse turret armor. It's also slower and less accurate. Admittedly I would love to experience the gun handling, and I think that may actually make the Patton more fun to play, but I think the Cent is surely the better tank.

It's the Centurion AX by miles in our current version. Eventually, when we get some of the PC buffs for the Patton, it'll actually be comparable.
