Why did I get an on screen message about " Team killing resulting in a ban , avoid damaging teamates "  after I destroyed a TD that was BLUE ?

It's nothing to worry about. You won't be banned for killing a blue teammate. I'm kinda pissed about that mechanic. I was crossing a bridge and one of our light tanks bounced off the back of my tank and fell to his death. I turned blue and teammates killed me. Stupid.

I'd say this was similar. We had just crossed the river . I think I'll leave em be from now on . I got no points or kill credit . That I saw , and my team was now down 2 tanks instead of 1 .

I didn't know friendly fire gets turned on for team killers.

Any documentation supporting this mechanic?

I don't know where they have it documented, but it's been in the game a long time. I killed an O-I that I watched drown a friendly tank.

It's been like that since forever.

Green teammate turns blue - They get smoked by the green team.

The stupid part is that the person that rids the team of the teamkiller gets warned about teamkilling and has a -1 on the scoreboard.

GG on that mechanic WG.

Yeah, But you get a warning . I hope not a strike . We had 2 in that match , running together .  I had half healthed the first , destroyed the 2 nd , got the warning and broke off .

Yup blue tanks happen but it's pretty rare in my experience. I've only ever killed 2 TK'ers in my 20k battles but both times I got a ban warning although nothing ever came of it.

I've only ever seen a handful of blue tanks in 18,500 games.

Im not sure how this works. I had a guy hit me just before I slipped down a bank and into the water and he turned blue. Now it was my bad maneuvering that caused me to  drown not him hitting me.

Anyway so I decided in a few games to experiment and see if I could get a tank to turn blue. One time I put myself in position to get shunted and then fell into the water and drowned. No blue team mate. Another occasion I hit another tank at speed and bounced off and aimed for the water and drowned. No blue team mate. So ........
