I just started playing again after an extended break from the game. So far, after about a hundred matches played, I have yet to see one of my favorite maps. I have played on tons of new maps that I don't recognize, but not mountain pass. What gives? Did they remove it?

No, should still be there - both winter and summer variants.

I aim to misbehave

Not to speak for Joco, but I hate it because it is a bland boring corridor map.  I hate it because it has a spawn that almost completely renders one of my favorite tanks useless and some of my other tanks are severely hampered compared to the other spawn.  If I was going to change it I would increase the amount of space everywhere on the map.  Basically enlarge the map in every direction.  If just sucks at present.  Also we should get the billy goat trail back.  They should make route up the hillsides that can only be climbed by light weight tanks.

290+ tanks played haven't caught 'em all yet  539543

It used to have these. You could also get up in the ruins near the lake. They were all removed because of crybabies so now it's 100% corridors.

Not only a corridor map, I'd argue it's unbalanced.

South spawn has quick access to lower 2/3 line opening which can fire towards both north spawn's edge and bridge.

I like both versions of Mountain Pass, however, imo, it is a map that when your team lemmings, it's very difficult to recover from..... some maps lemmings are not the end of the world, this map.... yea.

I like both versions but agree it would be better if they let tanks gain access to some spots of the map that would allow them to scout.

There are a few maps that would improve with enlarging. Mines for sure.

I am with mcnoople, if I want to be channeled into a kill box when I see perfectly good terrain outside the boundaries to maneuver on I get a little ticked off. I had to stop playing CoD for that reason. Nothing I like more than being restricted to an predesignated path just so developers can center their encounters along points on a digital grid. With the new and improved physics I have witnessed more tanks slip off into the water near the waterfall or fly off either side of the bridge even though nose diving down hard they are trying to hand brake.

When they started adapting all the maps to take away hides and restrict climbs it should have signaled to all of us the worst was about to come our way. Mountain pass is at the very best a worst version of Lakeville now as the players currently playing consistently leave the right side of the map open in favor of going towards the bowl to shoot at tanks they hope will come into the dry lake bed. Heck; just getting tanks to go all the way to the left has even become more difficult. Mountain pass is just an, okay" map.

On a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is bad and 10 is good it is at best a 4.

It's a corridor map. In fact, it's almost the textbook corridor map.

It has four lanes of attack, and each lane is fairly enclosed from each other. Cross fire is limited to the lake and bridge areas. Other than that, there is no interaction between each flank.

The end result is a static, stagnant map with very little variation between games.

Flexible, dynamic gameplay is shunted to one side, and instead we have a fairly linear tug of war.

How to improve it? Open up the map, allowing tanks to more easily cross between lines.

As it stands, the map is terrible and has nothing positive to mention, apart from the fact Great Wall is worse.

^^ this is important point about how WG decides to make new maps in the future, and I believe maps like Prok or Highway tend to be more popular because the battle is never confined to specific "corridor" areas.

And that is why I like listening, er reading Etzi's comments. No more corridor maps, hear me FusionStar?
