I'm sorry but I don't care for Red Cross. I live in New Orleans and right after katrina my friend evacuated to Chicago (where his wife is from) and went to a local Red Cross, showed them their ids and said we're evacuees from New Orleans. The Red Cross people there said "ok, what do you want us to do"?. Was a stab in the gut. They just wanted a couple food vouchers but they wouldn't be bothered to even try to help. At the same time I had evacuated to Austin tx and tried calling them to get promissed food vouchers. All I got day in and day out was "sorry but our lines are busy, try again later". No option to wait on hold. I'm sure they do things on some scale but they really burned everyone I knew. I could tell more stories but I think that's enough.
