Leave us all of your Server Replays feedback!

You can now watch replays of your last five battles played during a gaming session! In the replay itself, you can pause, play, skip forward/backwards, and change speeds. You will also be able to watch the replays in Third Person, Free Roam, or Directed camera mode. Now you can catch - and re-watch - all the intense combat action!

I just tested it and to be honest I am a bit disappointed of the replay feature.

 

First, there is no way to see the sniper view (aiming view) during replay. It makes it more boring to watch.

Second, replays cannot be saved. Why? I understand that you guys wants us to use the PS4/Xbox video recording feature but I might as well use that feature instead of replay, like I was doing before. Sure, you can record the match after it happened but it is nothing more than a hovering camera with no way of see through aiming camera (sniper view) as mentioned previously. Can you imagine if you wish to record an arty match? Nothing but an immobile tank shooting in the air. Sharing the replay would of been a nice feature as well. Sharing with friends or even youtubers. Another good example is if you did a great match during your session but you wish to continue playing instead of immediately record the match. You don't feel like recording right away. The limit at the moment is five match before losing the oldest one. That would mean that you will be forced to record the match before losing it because of the match limit and the fact that you cannot save it for future use.

 

I say this feature needs more work. Add sniper view and a possibility of downloading (save) the replay for future recordings and sharing purposes.

Really happy to see that you guys added this feature. Quite interesting to use the free cam to see what the enemies were doing in a match. I hope that in the future, you will be able to save replays to your console's hard drive, or be able to share them in some way. Still, I'm very happy that this feature has finally made its way over to console, and am excited to see what improvements will be coming in the future.

On screen there is not precise instruction , so I have to maneuver by feel. I want official exact instruction for "Replay mode"

By feel I got the key function. On Free camera mode ,LT for going upward, RT for going downward, and RS for angle changing  LS for coming to tank or back from tank.

When using replay mode ,you can access to replay Help from menu. So let's manupulate it! :)

Great addition. Especially for viewing what your best teammates and opponents did during the game. I'm sure the small issues above will be improved in due course.

It's a good start, I hope they continue to improve it.

 

My feedback suggestions.

* In free camera mode, there is no forward or backward, only side to side and pivot.

   If you could just add a forward it would make it so much easier to maneuver around.

 

* The up and down movement is quite fast and hard to control. (free cam)

 

* In player view mode, the ability to see that players sniper/camera view would be very nice.

 

* In the player view mode, to select players we must cycle through the whole team.

  It would be cool if I could use the team list to select a player instead of cycling through.

OK, so, replay is the coolest thing!  I agree that I would like to see sniper mode (arty view would be nice too, both in replays and watching when dead) and ya, jumping to a player from the list would be cool, but that is just feedback for future updates, as it stands, wonderful! Lovely! Not just fun, and great for watching your epicness ;) but what a learning tool! I am so jealous I am not starting out now, because this is the best thing for new players to learn from more experienced players, besides these forums.  I can go back and see how those guys flanked me so effectively and rewatch games that went bad and learn-already happened, so yay!  Also, and maybe more importantly, I got trolled last night, I was in a tier 8 match and the guy just screwed me for no reason, whatsoever, I sent a salty message and was so cheesed I went and watched his replay to see wth.  Ends up, guy was a total newb and I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time while he was trying to figure out how to steer and traverse his turret at the same time.  Sure, it is frustrating getting screwed by newbs in a tier 8 batle, but at least I wasn’t being trolled for trolling’s sake.  So, I released my rage, turned the game back on, and sent him a bit of helpful advice, to boot!  Two people’s game experience was imporved by replays, Thanks, WG!  Good work!

I think the replay feature is awesome. After years of playing racing game with replays, its awesome to see Tanks doing the same thing. 

I especially like being able to see a battle from all angles, and see how I was positioned from the enemies point of view. However I would agree with most of the comments here, that you should have a snipe view, or at least a view from the turret. And it might just be a 360 thing, but half the time I rewind 30 seconds it freezes up and I'm forced to exit the replay. Other than that, this feature is awesome!

I think this is by far one of the best features recently added. Its not perfect but it's awesome to see the entire battles perspective. My only gripe is that in free cam mode up and down don't move the camera forward. Otherwise great addition and hopefully continues to get better.

This is light years ahead of where we were.  I get a much better understanding of how the game developed and I can see the enemies movements now, so I have a better understanding of what happened in the game play.  There is room for improvement but this is an awesome start.

Feedback Ideas For Replay System: If you guys could, would you add an option to remove just the button instructions on the top left from the HUD during a replay. Also, if it's possible could you add an extra camera angle that would allow one to have a sniper's view as if they were playing in the match?

Very cool!

Up and down movement in free camera mode could use some work, hard to keep camera moving horizontally. Maybe one of the controls could be used to lock up/down movement when moving forward/backward.

Also, I have encountered a problem. I was in tank camera mode (my own tank) and I rewound (I survived the battle BTW,) I ended up in the middle of the map, on the ground, in the tank camera mode, but without a tank. No controls worked except for HUD, I could not change my camera mode, I could not resume the play.

Okay, this is a 2 part piece. I have enjoyed the replay system and have spent a fair amount of time tinkering with it since the 4.1 release. One is an issue that directly relates to the replay system, and one that may be indirectly related to replay.

 

I. While utilizing the replay system for a battle on Cliffs I would get a issue using the Skip Backwards 30 feature. Upon the replay restarting 30 seconds back I would be stuck in an observer camera mode which was partially underground and would be unable to switch cameras or use any of the replay control. Had to quit replay back to garage. This occurred twice and only occurred when using skip backwards when in free camera mode.

 

II. This one is an issue with my Jagdpanzer E-100 becoming permanently stuck in battle and being unable to use the vehicle even though the battle had long since ended. My platoon mates and myself were destroyed during a match on Dukla Pass. Being late we backed out to garage before the battle ended and disbanded the platoon. After disbanding I went and loaded the replay for Cliff(the replay mentioned above). After going through the cliff replay several times over a 60 minute period I went back to the garage to log out and noticed my JP E-100 was still listed as being in battle and was inaccessible. The log also did not have the battle results listed. To remedy it I had to close out WoT and restart it. Ive heard of people getting tanks stuck like this recently so I figured I would detail the events around mine since the replay system was being used when this occured.

Message to all who don’t  use the default controller setup: camera control scheme doesn’t work for you very well. Had to change from my “normal” scheme to the DEFAULT to get the camera to fly correctly

 

 

TLDR/ camera controls are funky if you don’t default.


Controlling how fast you go isn't nearly as critical as controlling how fast you stop.

Thanks, I didn't think to try that.  That was my problem, I use the Driver control scheme and couldn't control the camera (no forward or back).

Most of the time when I follow someone, I fly above and look down. To fly horizontally while looking down, I have to hold Aim and forward at the same time.

It's not perfect, but it works. I wish forward/backward movement did not change elevation of the camera.

Maybe we could have option to disable up/down movement or add another camera mode. So one camera would function as the current one (forward/backward moves camera in the direction where it is pointing,) call it Fly, then new one would not change elevation but move on the axis, call it Axis or Free. Just an idea.
