The Churchill III and I know it has the best multiplier for something (crew training?) in the entire game but hate driving it and I might be selling it because I never use it.

please help me understand why I should keep this thing.

First, we need to know why do you hate driving it?

I haven't had it too long (got it when they recently ran a promo on Russian premiums) and really enjoy it. I am used to the slug-like speed since going up the Churchill line in the British TT.

One of the best tier five PMM tanks. It has won me a couple of free tanks.

I honestly don't like the Churchill III either. Armor is unreliable against anyone who knows to shoot the turret face, gun handling is atrocious, and the vehicle is only really effective in mid-close range engagements where it can actually use the insane DPM, which it struggles to get to because it is a Churchill based vehicle.

I don't sell premiums so this one is pretty much just sitting and collecting dust.

P.S. Captured KV-1 is better.

shhh! I like to be top tank when I run it. Don't give away all the secrets. :)

P.S. food is not needed. It would really be a silver drain. I also only run 40 apcr. You can switch depending on targets.

Keep it for the XP ops. You're guaranteed a top five finish.

played 3-4 games in it and it's parked. bought it when there was a 30% discount for 1050 gold, but in reality, my Russian crews are pretty good, so it sits.

It gets a base XP boost that other premium tanks do not get.  That is why you see them at the top of the xp list, post battle, with stats that should put it further down the list.

It's a keeper for XP ops as it has a built in advantage.

Most potatoes have no idea how to kill off one of these tanks. Now it does suck a bit when you come across a good player that knows how to deal with the Churchill III, and when you do come across that skilled player, just back off a bit and don't be so aggressive. Other wise activate forward auto throttle and have some fun.

You know these games on Steppes where almost your entire team camp on the ridge and you get pinced from both ends? I had one of those a month ago. I turned to the Heavy Valley and only a brave Type 91 followed me. We met and retired an Excelsior and a Churchill I, then I got a view of most of the enemy team, also camping out. I removed three more from the game, my team did the rest. The Result: High Caliber of course, but also Spotter for the 1641 asssisted damage, 2743 base XP, which got me an Ace Tanker even during the drought.

It's the best game I had, but it's not atypical. The Churchill is a game winner, even with the rudimentary tactics I apply. Positioning is important of course, but the amazing DPM will get you out of trouble most of the time. You will meet a lot of other Churchills, KV-1s and Bogatyrs, don't be thrifty with the APCR on them, you will still make money in most games.

I run it with 80 AP/60 APCR; vents, GLD and spall liner; small kits and auto fire extinguisher. It runs all kinds of crews, from one-skill rookies to my 12-skill Soviet top crew. I left out the rammer because it already shoots faster than it can aim, and the spall liner helps a lot against arties.

As a crew trainer, it's amazing. When I run it with my 12-kill crew it almost always get a crew increase, ie. at least 8000 XP per game. It's also very good to run ops, either XP or damage.

Not sure what you think the problem might be. If you can, post a video of a game that goes wrong for you in a typical way.

Yep, dust collector for me too.  It's so slow and the more I play this game the less I can tolerate slow tanks.

So it has a super high multiplier on what?  Xp, crew xp, which is it?

someone told me it had the highest one in the game and I have noticed them taking top spots even while doing less in the games.

It used to be a great silver maker and was great for ops. Now, with everyone spamming apcr  Into the front of that turret, not so much. There is no gun mantle, and the good players know it. Since your primary weapon is a blistering rate of fire, it is very difficult to not have that weakness exposed. It is great against the kv220's and T14's because they have underpowered guns. A kv-1 with the 57mm will have no problem with it.

I believe it's the highest non-rare XP multiplier in the game.

There do exist better crew trainers on paper, but due to the length of a tier V match the Churchill III arguably beats them.

It's a rather boring and uninspired vehicle to actually play, but it's easy and consistent. It's more mobile than the CKV-1, at least in my opinion, and better performing due to the PMM.

I don't play mine too often, but it is my go-to  Soviet crew trainer. The is no better tank for a fresh crew.

You can PM with with questions, if you wish. I don't bite.

One point I'd like to make is it's only really effective at sidescraping from one side, as the front of the tank (driver/assistant driver seats area) is unevenly armored. One side has very effective armor and the other doesn't. The Armor Viewer makes it easy to see.

Once I was reminded of the unbalanced armor (thanks Quickybaby!) I started surviving a lot longer.

I love this tank, and it is one of my "get out of a rut" tanks. Perma-tracking in this is so easy, you can track a tank, get 3 shots into their hull, then track again, and repeat. Fun times.

Run it in a platoon of other Churchill III. Even I can excel in it then.

I'll be the first to admit, several games in a row with it can be mind numbing. Just don't over do it.
