The only two real differences are the fact it's British, and that it gets an APCR round of about 140mm penetration.

Yep. No side armor at all. But it's funny seeing how many people try and get behind you only to bounce every shot. I intentionally drive in reverse at reds sometimes.

World of tanks Auto lock edition, because aiming shouldn't be a skill.

But other than that it can be a decent tank.

Yes, exactly. You need apcr, apcr and more apcr for the Excelsior to excel.
your statements a bit confusing. Apcr and gold rounds....

Has really good gun depression.
I play it like a big medium, and prefer it to both the T14 and Churchill III.

The Excelsior has really good speed, especially for a Heavy. Keep your face towards the enemy, maybe a minimum of angling but you don't want to expose those sides (as has been mentioned several times above). With under a 4 second reload, just liberally apply Skill rounds to the enemy's face. Has preferred MM, so you will never see anything worse than Tier VI. It's great fun, I play mine often and have three marks on it.
Given the small number of British premiums, and the even smaller number of good ones, if you want a Brit for crew training this is the one to get.
