Since nobody knows where to hit it yet, it's currently a rolling blockade. When you do get penned, your ammo rack WILL be damaged. Consider ammo rack friendly perks/skills when building a crew.

Are forumers the only people that use armor viewers and such?  I mean, lower middle plate, outer cheeks of turret (though angled) and outer edges of cupola.

I don't rack up 5k damage in a tier 8 often, but this Ace was 1970 base XP:

Here is a 6k+ bounced battle, my cannon was damaged and I couldn't hit a thing:

Even if you know its weak points the VK 100.01 P is very difficult to pen when its top tier. I mean, if it's angling well than every single part of the tank, including the cupola, will require around 220-230mm of pen or more to go through, which makes it very, very difficult to pen for most lower tier tanks and many equal tier tanks. And while people can hit your cupola if they have the pen and and accuracy to do so, a VK can still easily out trade them with 440 alpha.

bought it last night. Bone stock is pretty unremarkable. As for the armor and people not knowing where to shoot it, thats a lie lol.  I have been able to bounce alot of shots by angling but those red bastards love sharing their skittles.

This tank tastes the rainbow nonstop. Also arty had been having a field day. They couldn't miss it if they tried.

It does get ammo racked every game and anything that get next to or behind you will have no problem racking up the damage with lite fear of being shot since the tank and turret turn slower than a prebuffed T95 with a damaged engine and dead driver.

Maybe you and i have had different luck with the skill of the reds we fight

yes...every battle that I was destroyed, even tier 10 battles, was when I got flanked or surrounded. The new Swedish TDs are penning me frontally, but I haven't died to one yet. Fatherlands and IS3s aren't penning me.

Was wondering this myself. Where are the weak spots?
Took a quick look in the armor viewer, and it looks really strong as long as you hide the lower plate.

I guess we're definitely entering the days of 'gold rounds needed'.

Is there another perk/skill that helps with the Ammo Rack beyond Safe Stowage? I have a nine skill crew that I am dropping into it when I buy it tonight. Was thinking of swapping a couple to the mobility skills (Clutch Braking, Off-Road Driving).

Also, do you think it would be worth it to Free XP the first package for the better gun, or is the stock gun at least serviceable?

(Bearing in mind that I have no financial nor ethical problem spamming premium rounds if need be)

the stock tank isnt completely horrible but its not that much fun.

I would keep clutch braking and off road driving. This tank does not turn well at all. Also off road is way worse. Driving perks would probably help alot

I had the Maus unlocked already, so I didn't have to start at stock. The second package was unlocked already. I didn't free the last package because it's just 200 Horsepower engine upgrade.

I put rammer, vents, gld on it, but it might be worth it to put wet ammo rack

The German 10.5 cm gun isn't bad, but it does look like a long, boring grind to get the 12.8.

I don't think there are any skills or perks that affect ammo rack durability beyond Safe Stowage, so it's probably a good idea to spring for the Wet Rack equipment.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

I only have a few games in mine and have only had sweetheart mm.  Its armor and gun are more than sufficient for top tier use.  So far I have not had Arty bother me yet, but its bound to happen with a 20 km tank that turns  like a one legged mastodon.

I'm doing strangely well in it at the moment - I guess the red team haven't learned how to fight it yet.

I might not have been clear - I am swapping to the mobility perks, not away from them. So I'll be adding Clutch Braking and Off-Road Driving.

The PC folks over at vbaddict show the overwhelming choices for equipment being Rammer, Vents, and Vertical Stabilizer. Which sounds very reasonable for maximizing the gun. I think I'll start with the Safe Stowage perk and see if I have issues getting racked too often. I'm surprised nobody has recommended the Superheavy Spall Liner given all the Arty/HE that this tank seems to attract.

I was debating stabs, but I don't stabs on slow tanks very often. I usually stop to aim in slower tanks. I know stabs can still help, but I just don't. The shells have a slight "loop" to them. Arty (adult Bert) only went after me one battle (the 6.9k blocked battle above) so far.

My Strv has no problem chewing them up. 288 pen is really nice at tier 8. Don't even really need to use premium ammo against tier 10's

I would personally want to use the 10.5cm on the Vk.100.01P but the package system doesn't allow you to use that with everything else upgraded :(

Vert Stabs are always better than GLD, even when not moving. Lots of threads/proof on that.

Went toe to toe with one the other day in the 112 and made a complete fool of him. He couldnt penetrate a single shot and I drove right up to him (penning his lower plate on the way a couple times) before getting to his side to finish him off.

People keep trying to get close with the VK 100.01P and it doesnt usually end well for them. Keep at range and act as a wall down a tight corridor to hold off a flank.

Got chewed by a Strv that I couldn't see the other day and I scraping as best I could.

Funny because I must be getting in matches with all the players who do know where to shoot it.

I will admit it is strong. I got my mastery in it yesterday.
