Since it's possible we're about to see an influx of these tanks in the high tier MM...

What's the best way to play the big, bad Russian dragon?

Perks, Skills, Consumables, Equipment, Tactics...

How do you load it out?  How do you protect R2? Is it fun in "Awakened" status? What's are the keys to it's "Awakened" strategy?

With evidence of power creep setting in for a lot of the older premiums, is the KV-5 still capable of controlling the battlefield?

If you think you see me coming, you're just imagining things...

Not sure about most of that sorry, however most reverse sidescrape to protect the droid, must be hard to hide it frontally.

it plays like a giant bully.

if you have some speed up dont waste it, waste the red thats in front of you with it instead.

i was hoping to drive over the new angled swedish tier 8 TD, instead i bumped him up into the air so he wasnt able to fire on me. the one tank you would think could be used as a ramp  . . . .  cant.

the ram wasnt even max speed but still did 350 damage.

Side scripe works very well even against the best guns sometimes. So use it.

Ramming also works well.

And of course - lots of skill rounds (and it still lacks pen and have to target weak points).

And it's tracked often so it would be good the crew have all repair skills plus BIA. But I mostly use it with low skills and even fresh crews as trainer - it's brawler so it's not big deal even without 6-th sense (basically it doesn't need SS).

If you manage to use mostly its cheap AP rounds with this DPM - it's also one of the best silver earners. But it also earns for me about 30-40K silver per game even when I use only skill rounds... lol.

Spall liner for arty and ramming, rammer
2x small toolkits, 1 firstaid kit,
Repairs, track mechanic, bia, snap shot.

Off road, smooth ride, maybe controlled impact if you like to ram.

My team got wiped by a 5 man platoon of these the other day who did almost nothing but ram. Their clan name was RAMU.

Sidescraping hides the R2, but people can still shoot the cappola on the roof.
The best defense is to keep moving back and forth, so reds have a hard time aiming down on you. You can bounce quite a lot just by making people miss.

Reverse-sidescraping works as long as you don't let them shoot the rear end.
Some people try to drive backwards, but the rear armor is pretty flat and easy to pen.

Spam gold if you have to ... that's what premium tanks are for. :P

The tank is unfortunately a pos.  I use rammer, liner and stabs.

Its without a doubt the easiest t8 heavy to pen in the game.

Its fun vs. tier 6 and 7s, but you get owned by everything else.

When you do brawl your own tier or higher, expect to bounce shots off of copulas with gold grounds because of your absurdly low pen.

Yes. The pen is low. And it's low even on premium rounds where for instance KV5 have lower pen on premium ammo than Fatherland on standard ammo. But actually if you use premium ammo when it's needed and aim weak points - there are very few opponents that can't be penned frontally - VK100.01P and Mauschen; plus also very tough are VK45.02B and E75.

But KV5 could receive some pen buff on both ammo without removing its PMM and still be balanced.
