.50 accuracy and 2.9 aim time seem VERY bad and hard to use at tier 10.

Tank                          Accuracy                   Aim Time        Barrel Size (MM)

Type 5 Heavy                .50                          2.90                  150mm

E-100                            .40                          2.90                   150mm

FV215B (183)               .40                          3.40                   183mm

JagdPanzer e-100        .35                          2.70                   170mm

FV4005 Stage II           .38                          2.70                   183mm

The difference is the type 5 has HE. It can hit the top of an IS7s turret and always do damage. From what I've seen it consistently splashes for 600, and when it pens it does 1100 average! Not to mention if you're tired of splashing the gold has the same pen and dmg as the E100, 330mm of pen and 750 avg. The type 5 also has ridiculously good armor. It is by definition a front line heavy brawler derp gun. If you wanted anything else then you shouldn't have got the type 5, like why you compared it to TDs, it's not a TD it's a heavy tank.., if you wanted a TD then you should go for a TD. If you wanted a more flexible heavy then the E100 is perfect especially with its buff to 246mm of pen on its standard rounds. The Type 5s 150mm derp is what makes that tank unique, it needs to be as close to the action as possible, and since you're splashing the .5 accuracy doesn't matter much. There are replays of the type 5 easily doing over 10k dmg without breaking a sweat

alot of shells that i hit with the 150 on the type 5 heavy have only done 300-500 damage i almost never hit above 500 and i do own the e-100, i feel it plays alot better than the type 5 heavy.  since heat has trouble penning the E-100 wile it does not on the type 5 heavy.

Edit: just had a match only shooting heat and doing 5k damage and blocking 5k

heat goes through the e100s turret like a hot knife through butter. Even angled correctly the turret at its max can only produce 302mm on the front and sides. Almost all heat rounds tier 9 and up have no problem with that

then dont expose your turret when you see they are firing heat, your skirts are very very good at blocking Heat.

don't expose you're type 5 when you know they are firing heat lol. I was just saying the e100 is just as vulnerable to heat as the Japanese heavy.

the e100 is 100x's better than the type5. the type5 is 1000x's better than the maus. type4 and 5 need an AP round imo.

Lol the maus is 100x better than the type five I mean at least the maus can angle lol. Also I'm not arguing that the e100 isn't good just correcting a statement that the e100 isn't as vulnerable to heat.

i see but ya i think the type 5 is kinda still lacking to most other heavies with the same gun/armor class if it got atleast a accuracy buff i think it would play 1000x better

I don't think that giving it say .45 accuracy would be too much to ask for. However what I really think the type 5 needed wasn't the deep guns at all. Rather removal of those cheeks on the hull that prevent it from angling. Take those away and revert it back to its pre buff armor and you'd have a competitive tank in my opinion

.5 accuracy and 2.9 second aim time doesn't matter when you are engaging targets < 150 meters away, which is where you should be.

If you're shooting the front of heavies or armoured TDs like the heshstar, JPE-100 etc, you're looking at 300-400 damage per shot maybe less if you can only hit the superstructure. If you hit the flat side of a tank you might roll into the 600s but it's rare. you can hit the flat side of a tier X medium and if it doesn't pen, you might still do less than 450 damage. If you shoot the front of an E-100, E5, E3,VK45.02 B, IS-7, IS-4 or any other tank in that thick armour bracket, you can easily roll for less than 200 or even less than 100 on occasion. The DPM on this thing is atrocious. An accuracy buff or aim time buff would be nice but it's not needed really, .50 accuracy shouldn't hurt it too much when you're engaging at less than 100m.

However, it's still a huge, huge improvement over where it was, but this thing is a unique role tank - what you lack in raw damage output, you make up in module and crew damage. Try not to one on one with anything above a tier VIII enemy, just keep tracking the enemy and let your allies grind them down. Push the front line, soak up damage and damage as many modules as you can while your team take out of the distracted enemy tanks.

Buff the Maus and the Type 5 Heavy.

The pen on standard rounds is terrible, manly low rolls of 120 for me. Hit something for 17 the other day.
Even Chuck Norris runs away from the T95

Finally bought Type 5 Heavy, hadn't enough battles on it yet, but since X tier is the same as IX tier, but better in all apsects, I can say that 15 cm gun as it is on consoles is the best thing happened to this tank. With HEAT rounds it feels like E100, effectively reducing HP of other X tiers;  HE rounds work perfectly for dealing final blows, one-shotting lights and setting enemies on fire/tracking them while still dealing damage. Type 5 Heavy with 15 cm gun is the best counter for IS7 in close quarters.

Some people are frustrated about low damage rolls with HE rounds, probably they fire them at the most armoured parts of the enemy tanks or at spaced armour, which is not the best idea. While shooting HE rounds you should utilize splash, sometimes it's much better to fire not at the enemy, but UNDER his hull (bottom armour is very thin) or just under his turret (I was lucky enough to set VK4502B on fire with the first shot like this).

The last part about firing below a tank is brilliant. I had never thought of utilizing the splash damage in that manner. Thanks!

I am glad I could help!

I think it's funny that even with HE rounds you should still aim at specific areas.

I always try to; either trap my shell between the turret and hull, or the hull and the ground.

Isn't that why the prem HE rounds didn't find their way onto the Console?

The type 5 Heavy does need a buff for the aiming time and my average damage to a tank is between 200 and 1100
