1% per game its a good score.

How many perks do u have?

If your crew have more perks then your leveling grow slower, it's normal.

U have to check tank crew bonus also. Different tanks has different bonus for crew. U can check this in tankopedia on wg console site.

Every 4 perks the expirience required to level a skill is doubled. I have a crew working on skill number 18 (russian, at 18% mastery) and it takes about 10 maybe 15 games to go up 1%. So the first 4 are super easy to get, but after the 8th it's like the progress bar on a YouTube video using McDonald's Wi-Fi.

As others have said it depends how well you are doing. To go up a skill for the first 4 skills take 108,500 XP. After that the XP needed increases.

So 1% per game is 1k XP. You will probably get that on a win where you do well, but not necessarily on a loss unless you do really well.

Using 1kXP as your benchmark, fully trained Mentor skill will be 10% roughly so an extra 100XP.

Premium tank bonus depends on the tank so we'll go for tier 5-6 value of 40% for an extra 400 XP.

Adding those up will give you (1,000 + 100 + 400) 1,500 XP. Which would be 1.5% of a skill, but is actually 50% more XP than you would have earned in a Tech Tree tank without Mentor (500 more than 1,000).

Does that make sense? I'm just using rough values to demonstrate - but if you were already trained 1.6% and it displayed 2% then your next battle would take you to 3.1% and only show a 1% increase because of rounding.

Your base XP is more important than your tank bonus though. Pick a tank that you do well in, not just for the XP multiplier, as a good result will still generally get you more in the end and be more consistent.

I hope it helps, but if anything isn't clear, just ask.  :)

mentor is junk...wouldn't bother with it until you have at least 4 hours off not 8 skills trained...so many more important skills to have that actually improve the crew...the bonus from mentor is so little its literally 10 games worth of XP through the first 100k experience needed for a skill...I'd rather have things that make my tank more accurate...manuverable...view range etc...once the crew has 4 or 8 skills and said skills start taking an extreme hike in amount of XP required to earn them...then mentor starts to become beneficial...

This is the endless forum debate: to have or not to have mentor.  I have done experiments on crews with and without mentor and I can say that having Mentor makes a difference from the get go.  The couple of crews I have without Mentor have gained their skills/perks slower than the majority of crews with Mentor.  Sure they have more battle relevant skills but in the end they have less skills than those I have kept Mentor in.

First you train Mentor as your 1st skill to get whatever extra XP you can get while training.  At 100% you don't keep mentor as your first skill but rather swap it for a perk which is only effective when trained 100%.  You can do that up until your 3rd perk.  That way you'll have BIA, Sixth Sense and any other perk you seem relevant for the tanks you'll be putting that crew in.  I would keep Mentor at least for the 4th skill since now, combined with BIA it accumulates even more XP for those skills/perks that start to double in XP cost.  From skill/perk 9, Mentor really helps advancing those percentage points

Also take advantage of those x3 and x5 XP weekends or special Holidays and combine them with boost you earn in Ops.  It's the fastest way to level up your crews specially if you're using a premium tank with high XP bonus like AMX Chaffee, Patton Legion, T-34-88. These are dual trainers also just not great silver makers.
