Despite it's glaring flaws, no armour, it's slow, the gun stats aren't that good etc, etc, I'm really enjoying this thing.

It's the true definition of a support tank, but man is it really good at taking down tanks that are not paying attention (and even those that are), or just pestering reds in general.

So, has the Chi-Ri found a permanent spot in anyone's garage? It may very well in mine.

I take it the gun sounded better. I just recently started down the Japanese mediums, unlocking the Chi-Ri about a month ago, so I have no idea what it sounded like before.

I didn't hate the chi-ri as much as many of the others in the line.  It gets the job done with a fairly good rapid fire autoloader.  Pop out ripple off 3 shots and duck back into cover.  Pretty good accuracy for an autoloader.  I really wish I could get the chi ri gun on the 13-90 and loraine that I will hate forever.

The type 61 is a tank that I absolutely hated in the japanese medium.  Slow, large, no armor, and absolutely no camo value.  It is a tank that can't work as a spotter unless the red team is asleep because anything it gets close enough to spot will spot it first.  It doesn't have the armor to hold any terrain/chokepoint.  It has a decent gun but that is all that is going for it.

Nope, the Skoda T 25 is better a tier lower.

I only have 3 Japanese tanks in my garage, the Ke-Ho, STA-2, STB-1.

It was kinda fun with the gun. I had some good games in it. Just I'd never pick it over some other tier VII tanks I have.

I'll add it was one of the only redeeming tanks of that line. Going through that line stinks but the STB-1 is absolutely worth it.

I only kept it . because I needed a home for a crew. I liked it better than the others available.

If it were 20% smaller I think I'd love it.  It's not terrible, but it struggles due to its massive bulk.

That's the major problem with it I think. It was so bulky to use and you were always exposing so much of the tank to shoot. A little sleeker and it would have been a good consistent tank instead of just tolerable.

Chi-Ri is the worst japanese tank I've played tier for tier.

Which is sad, because I have grown the love all the other mediums.

Chi-nu and Chi-to have devastating guns for their tier.

I am currently at the max STA-1 and while I didn't like it at first, players like Snorelacks and a few others enticed me to continue on with it, and now I am sort of liking it as a slightly worse STA-2 that sees tier 10s. I just had to stop comparing it to the STA-2 that has PMM and doesn't need it at all. Also had to stop comparing Japanese tech tree tanks to their OP premium counterparts.

I've always maintained that the Chi Ri is a great tank for teaching how to defend yourself without relying on armor and camo, and how to drop the bad habit of precise aiming to abuse a high rate of fire.  After I figured out the Chi Ri I've played at a purple level in most medium and light tanks.

Maybe someday I'll rebuy it and shoot nothing but premium ammo out of it.

It was an ok tank.  But every other Japanese mefium tank is better.  Autoader is cool but not really grounds to keep it imo.  After shot bloom makes it hard to make use of the rapid fire and it's too slow to effectively flank/skirmish

I want the Chi Ri's autoloader on my Panther.  405 burst, 198 pen 8.5 sec reload.  Yes please.

Chi RI kept it, use it, and I love that when red start getting hit by it; they stop what they are doing and pay attention to me. BTW thinking of changing my gamer tag to " needs attention."

I had a good time with it but it's not a keeper tank.

Too many keepers already and not enough crews nor the will to care for training one for basically what is said above, an inferior T 25.

Chi Ri is the 3rd best tank ( tier 4 tier ) in the Japanese medium line .

It has been my most hated tank - even more than the Sturer Emil and duck.
If I wanted to keep a tier 7 medium tank with a 75mil gun, i’d keep either the panther for the accuracy and the pen or the Comet for the turret, manoeuvrability and ROF.

Both are much better tanks..
