so in a game just barely i had a fatherland go full speed down a hill and he barely had a shot on me but still hit me wile going over his top speed. i wish to ask why do other people hit all the difficult shots with the fatherland, yet when i play with it most of my shots miss. i even have a 14 skill crew in it and equipment, maybe i am just bad and can not figure out the tank, so if you have any ideas of what it  is let me know.

Equipment:Gun Rammer, Improved Ventilation, Vertical Stabilizer

Skills/Perks:Controlled Impact, Deadeye, Brothers in Arms, Clutch Breaking, Snap Shot, Smooth Ride,Off-Road King, Sixth Sense, Track Mechanic, Repairs, Eagle Eye, Armorer, Preventative Maintenance, Jack of All Trades.

first line i played was the IS line, the is-2 was the main reason i started playing this game XD because i saw it in a anime and thought it looked soo cool.

i loved the IS line but for some reason the Fatherland i can not get to work, does not help that the fatherland and Glory (IS-5)'s armor seems to not want to bounce shots when facing the pike directly at them.

so any tips/tricks or anything would be amazing.

I marked my KV-85, I marked my IS-2, and I marked my IS-3. But, I can't mark my Fatherland. I found the IS-3's gun handles better and has APCR shells instead of HEAT, which made things easier too. Not a fan of the Fatherland.

ya i do not know what it is with the fatherland, i loved the is-3 and played it a ton (most of the battles i did with the IS,IS-3,T-10 were when i earned the fatherland) i felt like i had great games left and right when i played it. then when i got the Fatherland i sold my IS-3 thinking the fatherland was it+premium benefits. but then i tried playing it and i would miss tons of shots and get penned nonstop unlike when i played the IS-3.  i got fed up with hitting 4 shots and missing 5 and getting penned through the tip of my pike so i gave up on the tank and its been sitting in my garage. sometimes i try to play it but i just end up with barely any pens and a ton of misses.

its a close range brawler, cant shoot medium to long range in it, accuracy feels worse than a KV2 sometimes. Most people cant figure that out though, I still see fatherlands trying to play like TD's and end up taking themselves out of the game and doing 0 damage.

the sad thing is though the armor on it is bad up close but amazing if you are far and have the pike aimed at them, that is probably why i have a hard time playing it, if you are too close they will rip you apart but if you are too far you will miss most of your shots, i guess i should just play it nonstop and try to get better with it.

It has 1500m/s APCR though. It's no RO L7, but it has utility at range.

You need to be flexible. Hang back so that you're not torn apart by meanies, but close enough that you can push when needed.

If the gun is allowed to aim, it can be lethal, and that 270mm HEAT will deal with most hard targets.

You don't. :D

Seriously, you play it like an IS-3. You get in their face and you brawl. You can sidescrape for medium engagements, but it's not recommended since 1.) your turret is softer and easier to penetrate than an IS-3s, and 2.) your poor accuracy makes even mid-range engagements a huge disadvantage on your end.

The IS-3A turret is, IIRC, slightly stronger dead-on front (or at least, not significantly worse) to the TT IS-3.

It is much less angled over the sides of the turret, but sidescraping, your turret should be facing the enemy anyway.

Like other Soviet vehicles, it is extremely strong in the reverse sidescrape due to its front turret, while a normal sidescrape might expose vulnerable pike noses, sloped noses or LFPs.

It's not about raw thickness, but about shape. It always kind of baffled me, because the effective armor of the IS-3A is still high enough where most guns at its tier should struggle going through its softer areas, but people penetrate it reliably nonetheless. Also, the common weakspot is a bit more exposed on the IS-3A than the IS-3. I'm not saying it's incapable of using its turret, I'm simply saying that it's less reliable than the IS-3, and with its horrible gun handling, I would not advise sidescraping. For the record, reverse sidescraping was included and implied when I mentioned sidescraping in an IS.

fatherland is excellent, it's an is-3 with a better turret. run rammer, drive, and vstabs, because you need to.

I’ve two marked it, and I play it aggressively.  The aim time is is horrible (shoots like a drunken sailor), but APCR rounds do help.

Horrible tank. Sold mine.

It was for me one of the most frustrating tanks in the game and was absolutely rage inducing for me.
That alone made me realize it was not worth keeping because I had NO fun in this tank whatsoever.
