I could be wrong, but iirc the game did not always have detected as a feature. I think it was added about 2 years ago.

 

So what did players do( if I'm right lol) before it was added when arty had them in its sights?

I noticed this earlier. I also seem to have sticky tracks that can climb rocks any time they come in contact as in reverse trying to get back out of someone’s sites.... rng has been both detuned and given a big hammer. Over all a great update though. Very nice.

Not sure, i think we always had detected but might be wrong .  We didn't always have sixth sense,until they added skills/perks

Died.

At the end of the day arty has superpowers and we have nothing to counter them, the removal of this just makes arty fit thee game less.

Simply put it made 6th Sense an almost absolutely necessary perk, since you couldn't tell when anyone was looking at you.

actually it was the opposite, until we got perks we had 6th Sense for free on all tanks, this was removed with the introduction of skills and perks until the detected  mechanic was introduced.

Maybe thats why I thought we always had detected, I guess it was sixth sense.   Hard remembering all the little details of the early game,even if it's not that long ago.....I'm getting old lol

I'm not sure when it was added to the game. Though I will speak from experiance from my PC days 5 or so years ago. 

 

Basically you had to have Sixth Sense, but even then that wasn't enough. You also had to really learn the maps, where the best locations and hiding spots were for both sides. Where enemy Arties, TDs, Scouts, and others always went. You had to learn every aspect of the map, the tanks, and the gametype back then. I don't even really pay much attention the the Detected system. For the most part I still play like in the old days becuase it improves my skill overall. Unlike most of the systems we have now seem to take the skill out of the game and holds your hand quite a bit.
