So many opinions. So many negative. And it only seems to be getting worse. Should Wargaming do something about it? And, if so, is there any particular form of punishment you would like to see meted out?

Happens every update. Someone doesn't like something so best thing to do? come to the forums and whine about things. Some of it is understandable while some other is just whining to well. whine some more then normal. Sadly.

The amount of negativity is because of the state of the game. Don't want such negativity, try fixing some of the many problems this game currently has. Then the amount of negativity will be reduced (It will never completely go away, but it can be lesser.)

But let WG go ahead and come down on the forums. Just another way to speed up the death of this game by driving even more people away.

Unless someone is breaking the forum rules, no opinion should be silenced. To suggest otherwise is pretty damn stupid. Positive and negative feedback are needed, especially on a discussion forum. Otherwise you're one step away from being the next Digital Homicide and making a fool of yourself and your development company.

Hell... The comparison could already be made.

Instead of cutting off the opinions, try fixing the root cause.

The easy path is shutting down conversation. Like WG did to Foch. How'd that work out?

Moderators here will just ban a few people here and there to help curb the negative opinions. Sometimes it is warranted, sometimes it is targeting.

The only thing they could do is ban certain individuals. You know, the ones who do nothing BUT whine and cry and stomp and carry on and on day after day to no end. Nothing's ever good enough, everything's a disaster, WG does nothing but lie, the game is dying or dead, its all WG fault and they did it on purpose. They never cared about us or the game, it's all been just about the money. Blah blah blah I know. The forum would be a much better place without them for sure, but if they banned those types they would just create new alt accounts (some have been banned and done just that already) and come back here to rant about all those same things I just listed with an added dose of rants about censorship. You just have to look past what you can, block those you can't, and try your best to be a positive influence instead of a negative Nancy.

Absolutely not.  Muzzled opinion is useless data.

I have berated people for pointless negativity, but most currently is good negative feedback, if WG would just listen to us rather than coming back with [edited]the negativity would go away. If they are unwilling or unable to change things to what we want then at least give us reasonable reasons for it not the garbage they are spewing.

US: Why did you remove the maps

WG: Problems we are looking into it

US: WIll they return and if so when

WG: We have answered that already

This is the current attitude with all problems, yes they do listen occasionally and they do fix things, but the silence and [edited]answers are getting far too common. They are running a business and they need us so they should be treating us better.

Wonder why that's edited? not really swearing but fine

For each decision there are happy and dissatisfied, obviously it is the dissatisfied who write, it is normal.
Then here is a games forum and many are very young and impulsive.

You mean like China does? Yeah that would be helpful.

People are only negative because they are unhappy about something they care about. I think most of what you see is just frustration boiling over

I don't generally care as much as most people here do about changes made to the game, but I must admit this latest update has really, really pissed me off. I am now giving consideration to just uninstalling the game as I found tonight that it just wasn't any fun at all. All my fun keeper light tanks have been nerfed and my heavies are no fun to play due to the arty targeting buff. I've had an absolutely [edited]night of tanking and I'm now reaching the point where the amount of frustration starts to outweigh the enjoyment. Regardless how negative this is, it's important feedback for the developer, as I am a paying customer and I'm probably not the only one who feels this way.

It's a forum for a game based on using frustration to get you to pay for advancement.  Anything that is perceived to add to that frustration will be met with a negative reaction.  It should both be expected and taken with a grain of salt by the people in charge.  They should realize that the forum will always be somewhat negative because of how they've set up the game.

That said, threats and gross personal insults have no place in a serious discussion.

I don’t approve of censorship.  I would like to see more “guidance” though for the forum rules concerning appropriate conduct and more enforcement of violations.  The moderators are extremely inconsistent and several notoriously negative forumers continue to troll and abuse otherwise well meaning players(seemingly without consequence).

I’m not here to say I think the forums are especially negative lately. They’re not.  People being bootyholes on the Internet is nothing new.

But what has changed is the removal of EU forums!  God knows how many of them just switched to the English forum (because they don’t use Social for WoTs community stuff) because there’s now a much larger volume of posting.  More people posting could possibly result in a perception of greater negativity.
