view range is out of control

ever since the light tank update I am getting spotted from ridiculous distances to the point where TD or snipers are not worth playing. The view range at higher tiers is now unreasonable and you can get spotted basically in spawn

 

so many hills no longer climbable, so many paths of fimits.

 

and I'm sick of the YOLO light morons running out and spotting 10+ players with their op view range. there used to be consequences for this nonsense

 

they absolutely gave most high tier lights too much view range, I know they had to or it would have been "just a worse medium" but if that's the case nerf the view range of mediums and heavies and then nerf the view range on lights

Any examples of lights having stupid amount of VR?

Isn't 420 the highest (base) there is, right?

I just hate the way ' view range' just burns through camo no matter how many skills/ perks or bushes you have between you and them.

It's now a priority of mine to do my best to wipe out any lights i can as early game as poss now just to get some peace!

I've said for years that view range across the board was too high, they reduced it with those stupid weather maps but why not reduce it across the board and make the limit 333 rather than 455. This would effectively increase the map sizes and make all classes work better IMO. Can't see it happening though.

As to the lights they have been nerfed anyway with many having less view than heavies, I know they have better camo but still it seems the wrong way round to me and makes being a scout pretty pointless.

15m back from bush and your invisible, also if you have a well set up tank they need to be close to see you. It works as is, but everyone sees too far making the maps feel small.

​500 is suppost to be the cap but i have detected enemies at 650 in my lycan with binos its all screwed up now

Regarding VR cap, there is none afaik.

I meant base VR for any tank.

look at prokanovka a,1 straight down to k,1 xbox 1 it is like a forrest,xbox X its a jugle, xbox 360 its a waist land with 5 skinny trees

Can you show that with a video... seems unbelievable (or really a bug)

Normally even a huge heavy with bad camo will not get spotted at max view/render range.

No tank will be spotted past 445m.

My Borsig and mini waffle are staying undetected against them without any issues. Which TDs are you talking about OP?

I've often wondered about this.  I had assumed that although the tress/bushes aren't actually rendered on the 360, the camo factor that they offered would still be applied to any vehicle sitting behind them.

Must admit I haven’t been having issues, it’s all about picking your cover and also getting to that cover without being spotted

The t10 lights do not have ridiculous VR, in some cases worse that tier 10 mediums . they just have good camo too.

eg. My TVP has 493m VR with my setup. an AMX 13-105 cannot get that VR unless it uses binos, But it will still out spot me because of its camo.

 

Top tip. Your Waffle E100 has bad camo... If you use camo skill and camo net you still have bad camo.!

Not to mention deciding when to fire, that can make you or break you and sometimes if a light is coming close it might just be better to reverse before being spotted rather than after the fact.

I would blame it on the maps, not the lights.  Very few maps reward view range at the moment.
