I'm not actually mad or salty, but this tank weight Matchmaking isn't cutting it. I'm not suggesting skill based matchmaking, but I am suggesting more priority be given to "same tier" matchmaking.  

 

I didn't even notice until the battle was over because I was in a light tank and I really didn't care what types of tanks were on either team for my purposes.  7 tier tens to 3 tier tens? I don't even see how platoons could have caused this one. I'm ashamed that I couldn't carry against the object 263 after I killed the t95 :trollface:, but seriously, how did the green team stand any chance on this map with that kind of tier 10 gun discrepancy?

Now this is bad, can't understand how they can muck up so badly. There are supposed to be rules to MM so it must be bad or lazy programming luckily I hardly see anything as bad as this without platoons screwing it up.

Regularly seeing uneven matching of armour this week. One team will comprise of glass cannons and mediums and the other will have heavily armoured heavies and td's

LOL, you had a pair of Tier IX TD’s to counter 5 red TD’s of which 3 were Tier X.  Ouch plus one.

I had a few T7 battles like that last night.  Can't post the screenshots as I'm not home and Xbox is not set to upload to Live.

 

In the most unbalanced battle, green had 7 tier 5's in a T7 battle and red team had 2 tier 5's.  The difference was that red had T7's instead of the 5's.  Green had a platoon of 5 Pz V/IV's and I guess that confused MM.  Green was flattened in short order.  All the unbalanced battles I had last night were T7.

every day sir. Sorry to say but every day this happens. It's the worst part of the game to me.

i have had a week of crazy matchups.

 

the strongest tank for tier, the reds will have more than one & we greens get none.

It is becoming more and more apparent as time passed that the matchmaking isn't being even any more - yet WG does nothing about it. It is becoming more and more apparent that you can predict the outcome of a match within the first few seconds simply by looking at the team rosters (often even before the countdown timer even starts). It does not take too many such lopsided matches till you either give up as soon as you see the teams ( and people wonder why suiciding and afking is up) or more likely, plain old quit. And WG wonders why people are leaving the game, or why new players aren't coming in.

It wouldn't be so bad except for some reason I (and obviously many others) end up on the disadvantaged team more often than not.

 

The team with 1 heavy (mine) vs. the team with 5 heavies.

The team with 7 TDs (mine) vs. the team with 1 TD.

The team with no light tanks (mine) vs. the team with the Cromwell Snakebite.

The team with 3 tier 10 tanks (mine) vs. the team with 5 tier 10s tanks.

The team with 1 3-man platoon (mine) vs. the team with 1 3-man, and 2 2-man platoons.

The team with 5 various T7 heavies (mine) vs. the team with 5 Tiger I tanks (not platooned).

 

I'm starting to believe that no-one knows exactly how the matchmaker works and there are some occasional major failures due to a few bugs but nobody will admit that it's broken and they cannot fix it. If these obviously bad matches occur only rarely they can make the excuse that the platoons are the cause, but the MM weighting is still within the acceptable range. I don't see why the MM cannot evenly distribute the amount of tanks by tier and by type (or at least get close), even if it means a little longer wait in the queue. On some maps having more heavies (more armor and HP) is a big advantage.

Wargaming has a 1/7 chance for extremely unfair matchmaking in order to give tankers a chance to outperform and earn crazy XP and get elusive masteries.

 

It's called the "carry MM rule"

Even with WG's MM this is Concidered a bad match,(% difference above 6.67 + Number of Top Tier players per team) though they do explain that the MM will relax rules to make a full game, the only issue I have is that the MM could have made another pass to balance this games players more evenly.

I still say it's lazy programming. Really, how hard is it to balance numbers of tier 10's?

 

I mean, human psychology tends to demand fairness. People notice 3 vs 7 tier 10s despite whatever weighting is calculated. 

 

If it was 3 super Unica vs 7 tier 10s if regular players ... Okay. But they say it doesn't work that way. 

 

Why piss people off like that? A happy customer is a good customer.

@soviet. My issue is that it's not like there was a lack of players on east last night at 2230 hrs. I wouldn't have wanted to be on the red team either though.

Seen far too many of these games in the past week or so.

 

Previously it used to be skewed by platoons, now it just seems to be skewed. 

 

I had a game with a T49 being top tier and the server population was relatively high.

these kind of matches are the most normal mm that i usually have in any time on euro server and i just always wander, that why its everytime my team who is lacking on tanks. I dont mind being two tiers down and dont complain on that, but everything on console mm is total [edited], even an brainded idiot could split tanks half and half or one tank difference, but this mm just tosses something out there and that can be 10 top tiers against one top tier

Yuh huh. It wouldn't be so bad if that were rare, but I've seen instances like that or worse quite often.

I want the old Chaffee back.

I just enjoy close, hard fought battles...it's not likely to happen with line-ups like this. From a personal standpoint, I had a blast in this battle because it was extremely challenging given my tank, the map, etc.  I performed really well (I'm not talking about the stats necessarily but actual in game movement, etc) under difficult conditions.  I'm just concerned about what this does to the mindset of players that don't think like me.

Last night reds had 1 tier 9 and 2 tier 7 vs greens 0 tier 9 and 7 tier 7's. It was a quick match indeed. 

Seems they are using the EA match rigging system or something.
