You make a good point. A guy like you can see that line-up and build a strategy on it. Maybe not in terms of winning but to the point of pulling out a decent personal performance. Joe random will either hide, quit or fail to actually realise there's a problem. If he's oblivious then no harm done, but if he thinks the game has screwed him then the game has a problem.

I want the old Chaffee back.

Sorry to see it Bullpup but, it seems way more common.  I've gotten matches similar and always questions the MM.  Don't even know why we can't even balance out platoons (to a point).  Then add in a map rotation with unbalanced tank classes or unbalanced platoons.  Prime example would be Ghost Town (TD vs Medium).

I was a tier 7 in this game Wed:

 

Green      -       Red

4              -         7      Tier 8

5              -         4      Tier 7

6              -         4      Tier 6

 

Most of our heavy tanks were tier 6s.  They had like 4 top tier heavies.  I think they ended up losing 3 tanks in the match.  And there were no platoons over 3 players on either team.

It's becoming more ridiculous. 

 

First match I had in the 13 57 last night, right after I bought it...

 

I am top tier. on Port.

 

The only T7s are me and another 13 57.

 

The reds?

And we also had 2 fewer 6s (more 5s).

I love when tank weight is the same with one high high tiered on each side are matched up. Only to find your t95 is a stock 105mm and the reds m103 is fully upgraded with the main 120mm cannon... 

 

95% of those battles end with the fully upgraded one will get a top gun or higher. And pulling a 75 to 80% wn8 on those games... ps://

I don’t always see terrible matchmaking.  But when I do, there’s always a platoon.

MM can’t handle platoons.

Without such lopsided matches, how would potatoes win any games? The obviously lopsided team creation is a feature of the MM, not a mistake or malfunction.

I have never understood why MM will not equalize the teams a little bit based on other criteria. I have no issue with the MM I am getting, but it seems the way games go, an outright rout/collapse on one side is the norm for the games I am in.

 

Once 30 tanks are selected, they could easily be re-adjusted to give a better match, but my guess is making that final adjustment might mean longer games or higher XP awarded to players than would otherwise be possible.

The part that really annoys me is when I am clearly being used as filler for a higher tier game. Like when I'm rolling out solo in, let's say, an FV 4202(P). So I get placed into a heavily tier X game, 10 X's per side, rest IX's, and maybe a tier VIII Light on the Red's. I have no business being put in that game. I was sacrificed to the MM gods for the sake of making a faster match and giving the higher tiers something to shoot at.

 

Similar mind-boggling situation is where you get that same heavily Tier X game, but the greens have four VIII's to the 0 on the Reds. No platoons involved. Why wouldn't it just put two VIII's on each team? It may be balancing out heavily-weighted tanks, but it should really just wait a few more seconds for a comparable tank to come available to match on the other team. I'm playing during peak hours on NA East, so it's not like population is a problem. 

 

Just seems like too often balance gets sacrificed for the sake of speed. So instead of wasting another minute or two getting a better match, you get to waste 15 minutes in a bad one.

As Soviet verified, this is WELL within the acceptable tolerance of 10% MM weight.  It might suck, but working as designed.

I just said working as designed, not that I 100% agree with it.  Personally, to me this is a minor annoyance compared to things such as multi arty platoon, multi light tank platoon, high tier TD balance(or lack), utter moronic gameplay decisions by some players, lack of quality training IN GAME, etc.  OMG MM is just way down the list.

Just another reason I avoid playing a lot of high tier games:facepalm:the MM is effed at all tiers anyway but so many of those X's are just so OP you can't even get hit once.

This sort of matchmaking is so common during the three years I have played that I'm surprised anyone would mention it.

Its done to make you feel bad about losing to the point you will spend money to go tier 10 too. Its cash match making.

really?  I'm at three years and I haven't seen this regularly, just recently. I see platoons mucking it up, but that was not the case in this battle. There's not platoon pressure on that battle.
