Good read, you pretty much defined my weaknesses as a scout and what I need to do to address them. Map knowledge is one of my worst skills as a light tank driver. I seem to find those dead ends 90% of the time now. Trying to evade and BLAM, dead end.

I'll work on these skill sets that you have outlined and see how my progress goes.

Thanks again for the words of wisdom.

hope it helps

Awesome guide TTT :great:

I've watched all your vids in the last 12 month and I think learned a lot about driving lights - Thanks a lot!

Great advice, tanks for taking the time to put it together Turkey!

Do you have a tip for a premium light that is easy to pick up, or alternatively one to avoid? Do some just play 'easier' than others?

I recently started dabbling with the AMX Chaffee and Awful Panther and seemed to find them more forgiving than the Snakebite or Lycan. I don't know whether it's the 4.2 changes or whether I just picked the wrong tanks to start with.

Need some tips and tricks for the 13 105. Man is that tank cursed.

Cursed in what sense?  You lose a lot?  Or pen issues?  Or accuracy issues?

I would say my favorite prem lights after the update are the Lycan, Awful panther, and hellhound. though I would also recommend the Type 64 as its ridiculously good now that it only sees tier 8 battles max

I play lights about 80% of the time. I’m a mediocre player who has the great game here and there.

if a situation is going bad, run. Use your speed and camouflage on the move.

watch the map, the middle usually opens up about 3-4 minutes into the game. When it does run to their rear area and hunt arty or hit from the back.

The handbrake. Learn it. My game has drastically improved. The secret is to get as close as you dare, twist and shoot, and outrun their turret. The only heavies or tds I fear one on one are the ones that are difficult to pen, even in the rear, otherwise it’s easy meat.

Survival and win rates. It was better the 2nd day though. I tried playing it aggressively like the 13 90 and it wasn't working. Went a little more passive and got some better results. Other lights really like to abuse the 13 105 since it only has a three round clip.

think my next video will feature the 13 105 so hopefully you can pick up how I play it, though I'll be honest its my least favorite tier 10 light I think

Attention King North TX..... this is a proper write up and how to pass on advice/tips/tactics. And it's coming from one of the best (if not the best light tanker) in the game.

Thanks to you The Turkey Tank for taking the time to write up this excellent detailed help thread for those of us that truly strive at improving our light tank game play.

On a side note, I crap a cow when I am playing my T67 and I see Ensk or Ruinburge loading in, and then end up having one of my best games of the day....

Thanks for taking the time to write this up :honoring:

I put a link to this thread in the King North TX thread, in the newbies forum in case anyone there (King North TX) wants to learn how the best light tanker in the game approaches it

Turkey you suck [edited]! You don't know the first thing about light tanks! You're bad and should feel bad!

Edit: Before anyone gets super triggered, its a joke.

The Turkey Tank, why don't you have a Snakebite?

Thanks for the write-up.

Hi Turkey,  Could you do or share a link for a video on "hand-braking"? I have not been able to find any videos on preferred setups and/or best use or how to even practice.  I enjoy playing scouts and mediums but have not even started using the hand-brake. I think that would help my play go to the next level.

Yeah, hand brake question as well.  I drive/steer with the left stick, but the hand brake is down on the d-pad (left side) in the default config.  How do I turn & hand brake at the same time with one thumb?  Is there a better, recommended set up?

Edit:  Just tried the 'handbrake' controller setting.  Much better, handbrake is now @ L1.

Great stuff Turkey, now all I need is uncanny spatial awareness and the ability to hit a cow's bum with a banjo and I'll be 100%ing all my lights too :)

If it was in the store right now, I'd gift you one.  I want to buy the world a Snakebite. :harp:

It is too much fun.

You can pick up a Snakebite on the cheap by finishing out one of the War Stories. I forget which one, think it was the third or fourth. Buy it for something like 2,100 Gold, which is a steal. Just remember that when you finish the War Story, you only have 24 hours to buy the bundle t the 50% off price - so have the Gold ready before you finish the last chapter.
