so I'm grinding the Chinese TDs with my friends. We are at tier 4 and we finally unlock the tier 5 but something isn't quite right here. I'll show the stats and maybe you will see what I mean

Tier 4 SU-76G FT

85mm gun.

1.7 sec aimtime

0.40 accuracy.

Tier 5 60G FT

85mm gun (second package)

2.3 second aim time

0.43 accuracy

They have the same pen and damage.

So..what the heck? I move up a tier. I get a tank. Bigger. Slower. With worse concealment, worse armor . and now. Worse gun stats than the tank before it? What the hell is going on? How is this an upgrade over the tank before it? I understand the second package is not the top gun but if you think I'm going to grind 19k exp on a tank with worse gun stats with worse concealment and aim time then you are sadly mistaken. The second package even says "M3g FT model 2(57mm)" but the gun is an 85mm not a 57. it's so bad. So maybe this is a bug? I hope? if not I'm just gonna stop lol no point in getting into tier 7 games with 0.43 accuracy and no armor and no concealment. It can't even hide in the bushes or snipe because how inaccurate it is. It can't brawl because it has no armor. What is the deal? I'm honestly curious.

If you ask me. It's a straight downgrade from the tank before it. HELL the tier 3 tank with it's 57mm gun is better than the tier 5. how do you go up a tier and get worse armor worse concealment worse accuracy and worse aim time? With the same damage..

Because it's not German, Russian or American that's why

Most lines have a lemon or two. It's never meant to be easy, but look at the rewards for perserverence. I look at it like this; grind through the tough tanks (without lining WG's pockets by free xp'ing) and it'll make you a better player who is better prepared to wreck all in the higher tiers. Kinda like grinding through the Caernarvon and the first packages on the Conqueror. Eventually you get the business gun and you'll be howling with delight.

The only positive thing the tier 5 has over the tier 4 is hitpoints. stock at least. who wants to grind 20k exp on a tank that is worse than the one before it. I hope they fix this.

You could always go with my plan, which is to Free XP up to a fully upgraded Tier VI (earned Free XP, not purchased). Seems hardly worth the effort to bother equipping, crewing, and running the early tier stuff. Get some of that On Track value up in higher tiers.

I can respect that. I'm not spending a dime to free exp this line.  I will fire lots of apcr though lol

I was going to do that. But my friends wanted to start at tier 3 so I started with them. I'm gonna stick it out. no matter how painful it is. god. 0.43 accuracy and worse aim time. I'm sure the t29s I'll be fighting will be glad to know I have no chance to damage them lol

I have about 160K free XP saved up and am thinking about doing this.  I'm thinking I should be able to skip to tier 7 at least.  Tiers nine and X look like fun tanks to me.

I already free exp'd another line not long ago so I'm not dropping more money on it this soon or I would do the same. The tier 7 upgraded gun looks like fun!

The Chinese TDs are barely real enough to be “napkin tanks” and we have a line of tanks with a hodgepodge of characteristics.  Tiers 2-5 are fecking useless and slow with bad view range, bad concealment, and bad guns.  Then tiers VI and VII have great concealment, great guns, and workable armor.....you actually believe they are snipers.  And then tiers VIII-X have feckall for concealment and become “Assault tanks” where we’re expected to charge in behind the heavies.

It’s a weird line of tanks.  What you’re seeing isn’t a bug.....it’s a feature somehow.

There are a couple improvements not that it's much ROF goes up to 13.33 from 12.5 and view range goes up to 340 from 320. I honestly doubt it's a bug. And from the looks of it even the top package isn't that much better then the top package at tier 4.Good luck it's doesn't sound like it's going to be a fun tank to grind.

I love the fact the tier 10 has 100 less alpha and reloads slower than the OBJ268, despite more or less having the same gun.

Did you free XP the whole line? I have never used gold to do that before but am curious how much gold would be needed to do that?  I have always used my free XP in the past to just unlock packages.

Probably just skip first 5 and start off with the Tier VI. I've got enough good and useable tanks at the lower tiers for having a bit of fun now and then, no need to bring suffering upon myself from what I've seen in this topic thus far.

Yeah, how about those guys in the Sextons. They must be so proud of themselves to be able to kill all these slow TDs.

LOL, sexy sam will always be king of tier V and below :). I haven't been playing it much lately as I have been working on my grinds but when I need to blow off some steam, it is my go to tank for fun :arta:
