Not sure.  Whilst travelling home yesterday I was reading about the 1 x having a poor hd drive, I wonder if this will be changed to a better one at some point.

I installed tanks on a hard drive, not even SSD, and it runs fine.

I googled around to find drives which were recommended for Xbox One.

you would have thought for the cost of the xbox one x,microsoft would have put a ssd inside, trying to save a £ I suppose.

Pop the flash drive from the 4 gig 360 to the xbone no problem. :honoring:

I'm using external SSD samsung Evo 250gb and im always first on battlefield. Anyway I got regular Xbox one so boost is huge. Don't know how faster it will be in one x.

Bit confused, what do you mean "run faster"? The only change would be the time that it takes to load up the game/matches, considering that you're also dependent of the server response and the initial 20s each match, i don't think it's worth it for this game, for other games (especially singleplayer), sure.

The internal drive on the x is 50% faster than on the regular one, you really don't need an external ssd for the x, want proof? when you play a multiplayer match on wot see which players load the match the fastest, it's always you and someone else either with the one x or someone with an ssd.

I have the one x, and I'm always the first to load the match first.

That's not proof. I have the game on a 32 gig flash drive purchased from a liquidation store for 10 bucks. Play on a 4 gig 360 with a wifi connection and I'm always in a battle before the timer goes to 20 second countdown.

Go to YouTube digital foundry has a video comparing loading times of the x vs the one vs ssd, the x's is really much faster. You can find more comparisons there.

Small example: loading GTA V from start up to gameplay.

Xbox one X internal drive: 51 seconds.

Xbox one X external SSD(usb 3.0): 50 seconds.

Xbox one S internal drive: 2 mins 03 seconds

Xbox one S external SSD(usb 3.0): 1 mins 02 seconds

LOL... Those players with One X load the map first, way before standard One or Xbox 360 players. Of course you can't see the difference unless your platooning with someone who's using One X.

:D... right, 'of course'. No one is claiming to see things they can't :teethhappy:

I load in and there are 2 or 3 other players not greyed out and the timer is at 1:32. Those other 2 players are the only ones with an xbox 1 x and were waiting for soooo long :teethhappy:. You say things like, 'way before' (clearly not the case; take it easy with those exaggerations, bud)  and 'of course you can't...unless...' with so much conviction :teethhappy:

When are xbox 1 x players loading into the match, when the timer is at 1:55? :teethhappy:

Usb 3 is actually faster than the sata connection on the internal drive which is where the bottleneck is. That ssd will be pretty snappy.
