This I can agree with.  I try to get a feel for where the reds are moving before swinging into the red rear area.  Just going forward and trying to bull your way through the reds with a light isn't going to do it, but getting around the flanks can.

Yeah true, i find the best route for a scout is North on Kasserine, barely anyone goes there lol.

Honestly, it is not just scouts that yolo for arty.  It is just more noticeable because it is early in the match and nothing else is happening but driving out.  I can't count the number of times I have seen teams 3/4 of a way through a match--up by 5-6 tanks, throw it away to search or chase an arty and allow the reds to make an amazing comeback.  Player hatred or what may be viewed as an easy kill blinds them, I guess.  Too often the slow lumbering heavy that was base camping is trying to chase down an arty that a light or medium player should be taking care of while said lights and mediums are trying to finish off the last couple red heavies and getting killed in the process.

speaking of Heavy Base Camping, they need to rework Steppes.

Heresy!  Those heavies that don't roll west are the reward for the lights and mediums that go east!

Because the player driving the tank sucks.

As a light player my intial yolo is to give the team situational awareness of the OPFOR are they lemming training or leaving one side undefended.  Most of the time the team never uses that info but thats another matter altogether.  Second priority is to blind the enemy and hunt down their light tank while moving into safer territory and active scout within range of the team.  Probably my last concern is arty, if I find them by chance I'll kill them if they are off on their own.  But unless its end of the game I don't actively hunt them.

Sometimes the inital yolo gets me killed sometimes not.  But if you aren't being the tip of the spear you may as well play a heavy.

even though most times nothing they spot can be shot by anything. And either or in addition to that they assume their Light tanks can only fight other things that are weakly armored so they go after the red artillery.

They usually don't live long enough to learn that Lights become more and more dangerous the longer the game goes on.

Yup! It's super funny when that light tank driver has a mic. Runs to the front, spots the entire red team, bee lines it directly for red arty, dies immediately. Then gets on their mic complaining about green arty not helping. Ugh, I'm still not even in my firing position yet dude, let alone I'm still not loaded. Sooooo........ don't die so fast and maybe you'll get support. "How do you expect me to stay alive longer with everyone on their team shooting at me?"  Ummm maybe don't YOLO?!?

if your in an especially weak scout, & the Reds have especially strong tanks - then go for it.

you throw confusion into their advance, & if you can actually take out their arty then it wasnt in vain either.

Hey man, if they kill arty that's a bonus. normally they get to 100m from the red front line and turn to ash.

Thinking about it, I rarely see it on PS4 now, maybe 1/10 games where it's obvious?

They get tired of their team not shooting all the tanks they light up, so they yolo out of boredom. Or that's why I do it. You sit there for 5 minutes scouting, 6 spots, and like 400 assist damage. Time to Yolo
