I know there is a system to punish AFK players but stuff like this is so stupid it blows my mind.  Watched the WZ turn his turret slightly at the very beginning of the match and did nothing else.  It was clear his intentions were not to play the game at all.  This was not a disconnect or anything of that nature in my opinion.  His movement was right at the beginning as I started behind him.  Moved turret slightly off center and then nothing.  What really makes me mad is look how he was got more XP than the light who tried to do something.  Why is this even remotely possible/acceptable.  You can see the WZ did not move and fired no shots.

You see the xp they would have earned had they not afk.  They see 0's per WG.  In other words only the afk tanker sees the true results for them.

Also, if yo are here....how far is Wargaming with our drunk irish female crew? Will the ladys be ready for the upcoming irish event? Will they get Irish accent? Will the tank get Murphys as consumable and 10% more damage against british tanks as extra perk? Will we get it? Say yes, surprize us :great:

I took my lumps when it happened, but I started a game, the phone rang, turned my tank, answered the phone, then my mom proceeded to tell me that my grandmother had passed away, So although not common some things do happen. By the way I did get 2 messages about afking for that. I sent back what had happened one sent condolence the other said ya ****ING right.

I guess the question I am mostly asking is how does the AFK player end up with more XP than the other guy who actually moved and shot?  Regardless if the XP was taken away for being AFK (although I still don't trust this actually happens as he had moved his turret therefor was "active" in game) there is obviously some broken mechanics here.  Assuming the WZ moved .001 KM but still didn't fire a shot he would have been ahead of a tank who attempted to engage the enemy XP wise.  Just doesn't make sense.

He was a tier 8 light.  The other guy was a tier 9 medium.  You get rewarded more xp when bottom tier.

As Max has said the AFK player now gets no xp even though it shows that they did on the team results screen. They get 0 on their screen.

It's happened to me where I have started the game but had to run so wasn't active (no idea if the controller was sitting to activate anything) yet I have gotten XP because I had spotting damage so the AFK system doesn't work, not sure if it even works when they have nothing done. Any tank even non AFKers should get nothing if they do nothing and shooting doesn't count unless they hit something.

I've found out lately that a tank got XP even if they didn't fire at all (0 shot) because It has moved 60 m (0.06 km). 0 m moving won't give any tank XP I suppose.

I think you have to move 100m and shoot once, otherwise you self-destruct as AFK at the end of the game.

In a light tank? Nah I doubt it.

In that medium? I also doubt in.

Anything is possible, it's not always intentional AFK. Couple nights ago I sent a player on my team that fits into OP's description.... about 20 minutes later I get this response back "Hey, sorry about that, Mom called me down for dinner just as the battle started...."

Made me remember to be cautious about the messages sent out when questioning another players poor play.... never know just how old-young the folks are being messaged.

On a side note: Guess the kids Mom is a good cook and he didn't want to miss dinner!

Nah, it's disrespectful to make your mom call you down more than one time. Otherwise She'd take the Xbox.

Have never intentionally AFK'd but have had disconnects, batteries run out (usually during game though), phone calls or people at the door. The only time I can remember anyone messaging me though was when a delivery driver was making a drop at a neighbours and they were out and wanted me to accept it.

Message ranted about my letting team down. I took time to reply explaining only for him to come back basically calling me a liar. Don't know why I bothered.

The team damage bonus is also higher the longer you live isn't it?

Also, he would have earned a survival bonus for winning and surviving.
