I'm not sure if I'm getting this right, but there seems to be a bit of confusion here. 

To play WoT on Xbox you must have an Xbox live Gold membership. This is different than having a WG gold account, right? You can still play WoT multiplayer with a WG silver account.

Take it you mean premium account for WG, no need for that to play. The game is free to play but MS makes it so you need to pay them to play any online game. This is how it seems, but don't have an Xbox.

On Xbox you must have an "Xbox Live Gold" membership with MS, to have access to anything online. Netflix, WoT, Flicker, etc. 

WoT premium account is sometimes referred to as a Gold account as well. I'm not clear as to which the OP is referring to.
