How many times have you spawned into an assault match, looked at your position and the OpFor and thought THIS ISN'T GOING TO GO WELL!

One of the problems with defending Assault is that you are forced into a location with no place to go and the team with the better spotters usually wins.  Plus, many inexperienced players believe that it's best to sit on the objective and wait for the enemy to arrive.  This usually gets their spotters killed quickly and the squishy tanks next.  Arty is spotted and/or countered quickly as they have few options to set up, and it's pretty much down hill from there.

How about this as an option:

  • The defending team doesn't spawn on the objective, but nearby.
    • (This will allow some room for movement, and forces base campers to actually put effort into camping.
    • It will also negate the effectiveness of early "yolo" spotters because if defenders are spotter early, they are spotted heading to position, rather in their camp spot.

9 out of 10 dentist agree...CAMPING is the #1 cause of hate mail.

Those are great suggestions. Assault mode as it stands is broken.

Assault sucks cos defenders attack and attackers defend. Your suggestions are decent but it won't change how idiots play.

Good points , but as others have mentioned that it wouldn’t change anything. Many players play wot as if it were COD and simply go out and do damage then die.

Whereas if you defend correctly you can do a lot of damage and get silver and loads of xp .

Yep, half the defenders go out for map control and the other half huddle around the flag... disaster ensues.

Does anybody from WoT PC have any experience with '2-flag assault'?  Maybe that would help with this issue.

I absolutely despise Assault variants. Defending  or attacking, depending on the map, one side is always at a significant disadvantage as to how things are laid out. I have seen some maps where the attacking always team loses, and others where the attacking team always wins. It's just that misaligned.

The bigger issue though is still that too many don't know how to play Assault. All too often the defending team go way out beyond any reasonable defensive positions would be trying to spot or glean kills, rather than setting up a true defensive perimeter. They go out, get killed and leave the base weaker and weaker with every Bozo that went out getting knocked off.

Then you have the times where it doesn't matter how well of defense you set up, for  the base is fairly well exposed to the point where no one will go knock attackers off. I'm looking at Malinovka in particular here. This one is very easy to get into the cap and take it, while having snipers set back from you and pick off any would be base saviors.

The testing team really need to re-evaluate most of these as well as many of the Encounter set ups. All too often one team has a significant terrain advantage. Most times they can dig in and never take a hit if there is any other tanks there is defense of them.

No cap kill all topics will go up 400%.

It’s meant for competitive.  Most console players can’t even handle the one cap in encounter.  2 would be a mess.
