forums aren't your personal journal though. I don' see a problem with well reasoned criticism but constant negativity is not why forums exist. Constant threads about the same subject day after day not only turn people away and breed more contempt they fail to accomplish their goal which is to get WG to hear their concerns. Even gfaqs doesn't get this bad and gfaqs is kind of a [edited]hole for nonsense. It's really depressing to want to come into a forum to talk about a game maybe vent occasionally and get greeted by the same few topics repeated after multiple years of this games life.

Fine, then complain about complaining, doesn't bother me one bit.  I'm here to tell you that it's not ever going to change though, so you're better off just learning to deal with it rather than adding conflict to the negativity.

you started the conflict though maybe follow your own advice? The topic is literally asking for personal gripes and complaints and you responded to one you didn't like?

I was trying to offer friendly advice, not complaining.  Stop injecting conflict where there is none.

For me it is the fact Arty is so powerful.  I understand it plays a role in the simulation but for me it kind of seems like it’s role is overstated in the game.  One shot kills while really in the thick of a tight battle with other tanks is a disappointment.

I know how to take cover from it but again in the heat of battle sometimes the last thing you want to do is hide under a rock and not engage the enemy.

The devs.

 Screw my elders!!!!

World of Tanks a game where it's 1 versus 29. 15 reds trying to kill you and 14 greens trying to support them. The yellows are your only hope. For signature and stats visit http://wotinfo.net/en/player-stats

2 & 3 MoEs

I really like this game. As far as all the complaints about rng, arty and a lot more there is a simple basic fact I keep in mind, it effects everybody the same. I read so many people complain about dying early but no complaints when green's arty takes out a few early, or when rng helps that tank your fighting miss you or bounce.
My biggest complaint is my fellow players... hating on me after they are blown up, messaging me about how lucky a shot I got on them or about how I don't know how to play blah blah blah. And the bad language during battle? I have to wear headphones so my kids don't hear that crap. Wot and wargaming have a great thing going, it's the people I wish I could change.

The chat is vile.  I have never heard so many angry, suffering and miserable people that are, by their own choice, playing a game.  I turned off the chat at game 24 just because all the guys complaining about other players.  The only chat I have on is during Platoon.  That is a helpful and necessary connection.

I am liking the game as well.  No real complaints that would make me soil my underwear tho.

Too high a variation in penetration and damage due to RNG.

The “realistic” physics.

Games with massed artillery.

The players that that don’t seem to ever learn even basic tactics or map awareness.

The horrifically unbalanced tier X TDs.

I hope to one day be wealthy enough to be considered eccentric rather than just plain nuts.

This and mm - it seems to be doing too much. Like handicapped drag racing etc. rng and mm need to be fixed. The rest is fine.

They are very very stingy with silver and xp these days as well.... very slow progress on grinds is a negative for the player base.

It's your prerogative to read the negativity, nobody is holding a gun to your head forcing you.  Many people come here to vent frustrations, it's human nature.  Why not just let them do so?

I will say your last two points are extremely valid though.

Really, I barely read the nattering nabobs of negativism - for the most part I roll my eyes and keep moving on to the next post because there are some people with legitimately interesting questions and ideas that appear on this forum.

My issue and annoyance regarding the endless recitation of the themes I listed is this; the official World of Tanks Console forum is one of the last places on the internet I would recommend someone who is beginning to play and enjoy the game visit. It's a forum intended to promote a game that - judging by how frequently topics about how terrible *insert standardized complaint from my list* is - no one who plays it appears to like. At the same time, one of the major forum complaints I didn't list as an annoyance is that "not enough new people are playing the game, or at least don't stick around long enough to really invest themselves in it."

Yes. It's almost like people reach a certain plateau in the game, go to check out the official forum to see if they can find something to help them become better players, and then are exposed to The Litany which (among other things) informs them that not only is the game dying but that they (the "noob" or "potato") are what's killing it by lowering the overall skill level and frustrating the "Good" players into quitting.

The fact that so many people come here after having a bad game, a bad run, or a bad draw to angrily vent - with no sense of self-consciousness or awareness - about how the game itself is at fault is one of the things I find genuinely amusing about World of Tanks. It can't ever be the player who is to blame; no one ever posts 'I Took One Too Many Risks' or 'Sometimes Arty Gets Lucky' or 'Maybe I Shouldn't Have Sat Behind That Same Bush Without Moving While Firing Every 10 Seconds For Two Minutes Straight' or 'Perhaps I Should Have Left My "Ideal" Position On That Flank When I Saw There Was No One To Support Me and I Spotted 7 Tanks' - those aren't topics you'll find here, and ironically those topics would actually be helpful for new players coming here looking for advice. No - it's The Game that's wrong.

That's why I find all the constant griping annoying; because it looks like the online community actively working against its own best interest.

I do appreciate that we agree that Trolls in the game are massively annoying  - good on ya'.

I concur totally with your list.... now, what should I think about your gamer tag?

That I am an earnest and hard-working young man with a pure heart and a fighting spirit?

That it's awesome to have?

Failing that I may also be able to recognize some of my faults.

Has been said by others but I will still add the number of greens, heavy tanks in particular, that are not leaving base.  I understand there are situations where this may make sense, however the frustration comes from them not supporting the fight and making an impact.  Key strategic locations are not taken, breakthrough opportunities are missed and greens subsequently disappear.

what is the solution?  Stay in base with them?  Venture out with the others and hope the Reds have Hello Kitty on their team as well?

So far I have been doing the latter, with mixed results.

Count it as a loss and get all the damage you can before you blow up, lol.

Well that is the basic end result, as you say.  Just play as well as possible and move on to the next match.....

RNG

+2/-2 MM

"Throw them all in and let God sort them out" version we have for MM

Stupidly fast tanks with stupidly op guns

I'm basically ok with most everything else, for they don't happen with anywhere near the repetition these 4 do.
