I can't help but think that most people didn't frame their choice of participation according to which tank they want to receive as a prize during Tank Madness.  That should be the determinant: according to your personal garage, which tanks would you like to be options for the final weekend prize, and then which of those you want to win the most.

I realize everyone likes to get 3 days of premium, and likes to complete these competition ops with their favorite tanks that have good crews in them.  But that just creates an effect where the nation in your personal garage with the strongest lineup gets stronger, and your real garage needs get ignored.  I really wanted the Senshi, but that option is gone.  The Stark was my first choice when this was announced, with the Legion third.  Everyone has different garages, so I get that other people might want/need the Liberte, Zizka, etc.....but I can't help thinking that most people are lacking Swedish, Chinese, and Japanese premiums vs. American, German, and French.

And if you aren't going to be able to play much on a preliminary weekend, consider choosing the country you want to knock out and only getting one completion.  The competition is so close that you would contribute to the outcome.

Of course, on the final weekend you need to pick what you want to win, and possibly temper that with who you think will win.  But I really hate the idea of getting a second Hammer, even if it is considered a different tank with paint/emblems different from the Hammer.

p.s.  I hate you all for eliminating the Senshi from the available prize tanks.

First, it's the same Hammer, so if you already own one, and Germany wins, you will just get silver. Second, there's a lot of potatoes that will just follow the group. I personally want China to win, but I have a strong feeling the potatoes are going Germany or U.S.A, so people playing China are going to have to double their efforts to win.

I have only two options to pick from.
The Senshi, which is no longer an option (I went for the French, as my only Japanese grind at the moment is the Type 4, which is quite far removed from "enjoyable"), and the Freedom.
I also have the T26E4 and STA-2.

Naturally, I don't really care which side is going to win. I'm going to go for the US, but if Germany wins that's a few million silver I get.

You can PM with with questions, if you wish. I don't bite.

Compilation thread of my ideas

And there are only 3 I could win.  The Stark (preferred) The Zizka ( I already have ole 3 pen my T40) and the Senshi and I own the STA2.  I felt the French would win and needed premium time so I played them but only for one completion which split the baby nicely.  I did my share to pull France down while still getting the prize if the favorite one.

I agree, but most people don't think like that. They will just choose whichever team has the most chance of winning, to maximize their chance of winning something, albeit just some silver and a garage slot. Which from a rational point of view is the only sensible thing to do really.

I really want a Freedom. I've almost bought it multiple times but talked myself out of it. I'd love to get one for free. Well, I think we all know Freedom isn't free. There's a hefty fee. I'd just prefer that hefty fee to be spreading Democracy with my BA 'Merican digital tanks over my wallet.

I think the france/japan competition, and even the german/uk one, both showed that the result can be swayed by coattail-riders and small, dedicated player bases.  I agree, better to get a slot and silver than nothing, though, if a player felt it was a lost cause.  I'm actually hoping so few people choose Swede that a high completion rate could win it.

As to the other poster re: Freedom, it isn't a tank I would hate to get.  But it has been on sale for a very low gold amount for a tier 8 prem many times.  The Stark, Legion, Liberte, and Senshi have never been down at 5000 gold cost.

The only prizes i haven't already got, or haven't got another version of are:-  Stark & Freedom.

So in the final i'll play for which ever one makes it through, simple.

You only help your team mates, because they can't be shot at, if they're dead.

I don't remember how the prizes work, but it doesn't matter much.  I can use the silver, as I have around 60 tanks and cannot play them all anyway.
I'm just saying.....

100% percent agree with you.  We should be choosing a team based on which prize tank we would like to win.  That is why I chose France, I want to strengthen my French lineup with the Liberte.

It's called odds. The more tanks a nation has the more likely it will win. It would be nice to win something I don't have but I'll go with the odds and win something.

Germany is probably going to win, although I would love the US premium this time.

except the amount of people won't mean much if they get one completion and stop. The rewards also matter. Even if team a has 100 people if team b has 2 people who get 20 completions team a won't get a higher average if half their team get 1 completion

I, like you, only wanted the Senshi, but I knew it wouldn't happen.  I really don't need any more silver either.

So in my case, the only winning move was not to play.
Console: XBox 360, XBox One.     Lines completed: T110E4, T110E5, T57 Heavy, FV215b (183), E50M, E100, IS-7, Object 268, Object 140/T-62A

why is that the only winning move?  Just curious since there are things like premium days reward and the fun of fighting in data file tanks.
