Depends if you want platoon members to play with or if you like running solo. Clan member can teach you things, make friends etc.
If so go here and post "looking for a clan" state what your looking for, age, servers or tanks you like to play and what your looking for or to do.

I would say try it. Figure out what you want from a clan, as well as if you meet their criteria.
Clans can be a very good way of socialising, making new friends, and developing as a tanker. Who knows, maybe you have some skills and tricks you can pass on too?
Beware though. Some clans are caught too up in their own b$, they can be elitist and/or effete, and sometimes aren’t worth the hassle or the effort.
Also, when joining a clan, ask about them from people who know them. But in the end, it’s up to you.

There are incredibly many different clans out there.
Some clans just want to play good and in tournaments and there you need to train with them on a regular basis.
Some clans just purely exist to have a clan tag in front of the name and do exectly nothing together.
Some clans are just fun clans. No sheduled training and they never play in tournaments, but you can platoon with them and generally have fun.
Some clans, like mine, are mostly fun clans but sometimes compete in tournaments but without training. We just want to see how far we get with our fun gaming and it works pretty well(looking at my T-127, I won in a tournament). We don't force anyone to play, but if someone isn't playing for many month, but is often online, we ask what is up and if he is ok with it, he goes if he doesn't want to play anymore, but can come back, if he starts playing again. We like it personal so we limit ourselves to around 20 members. I love my clan. I would say I made real friends in it. Some of us even visit each other.
And then there are nearly infinite different clan types between the ones I mentioned. The best thing you can do, I think, is platoon with some members of a clan, talk to them while tanking and see if they fit you or if you fit them.

The ESL tournaments are a benefit. Have not been in one yet but some players enjoy them.

You've gotten a lot of good info so far. I would only add that some clans play other games and WOT may not be the main focus, so that's something to consider. I never belonged to a clan until recently, and only joined for the lavish hedonistic lifestyle that came with membership. Good luck.

Thank you, but a lot of those games are complete trash. Perhaps everyone starts this way I don't know, I am starting to do much better (today I 3 marked my first tank, Soviet tier 5 T-50 light tank) now I'm starting to focus on which tank lines to work on, I do know I'm going American arty to tier 10( i have the 9) and German light to tier 10 (also have the 9, Ru251)
Not sure about a heavy or medium, or Td
Also decided to wait on a clan as most want people with better stats.
