So I just watched QB's vids on the Italian tech tree and the Progetto 65 and I must say, seeing from the comments and reactions of PC players - the Italian tech tree seems really disappointing, especially the tier 10.

I know we won't be getting the Italian tanks for a LONG time, but hopefully the tree is reworked while it's in the test server on PC. Seems like the entire tree is just simply average - just like the Czechs, but the Czechs have ridiculous autoloaders at tiers 9 and 10. And the tier 10 Pragetto 65 looks really, really bad...

Basically the tier 8 premium (Progetto 46) is miles better than the 65, and it's two tiers lower.

What do you think?

Tier 8 looks fun but not the 9 and 10.

Hopefully gets reworked.

You must be mistaking them for the French, the Italians went into battle knowing their tanks were vastly inferior & were going to get it handed to them.

If anything, the Ities were exceptionally brave to do what they did in tank battles, my hats off to them.

Nothing wrong with an average line.

Heck, it's a nice change of pace from the unending power creep that PC has had as of late.

You can PM with with questions, if you wish. I don't bite.

Do they come with the white flag or do we have to add it?

How many gears do Italian tanks have?

3 for forward and 5 for backwards

They seem to be more for novelty with the new autoloading mechanic they run. If anything, I suppose it’ll be something to keep the Veteran players interested in learning to master the new mechanic.

Makes it seem as if the line itself is quite fine.

The issue is just that it isn't ridiculous and power-creeps a ton of existing tanks like a lot of PC's recent additions and thus people assume it is a terrible line.

'Imagine if this forum had only players who actually win more than lose trying to tell others how to play. Would be the best forum ever. Instead, we have a bunch of morons who lose more often than not trying to tell their betters how to play their tanks.'

'The term "casual gamer" is actually not accurate enough anymore to describe what the larger market is like. They want the illusion of accomplishment, but not the effort associated with it. The players aren't really doing anything, something else is doing it for them, and the player takes the credit for it.

They don't need to be fast. Every Italian tank is a dual trainer

People will probably be mad if they don't get an autoreloading derp gun on an overly armoured Heavy, with "weakspots" that match the strongest armour of other same tier Heavies and making them few and tiny. Oh, I know a better idea, why don't we give the Obj. 268 v4 an autoreloader, because clearly it's too weak in it's current iteration. :P

The professional, elite (Fascist) Italian fighting forces were respected by Montgomery, and they gave him a rather difficult time of it.  The German's screwed them and the reg army in  N. Africa leaving them with no vehicles to withdraw, as buffer for the Afrika Corps escape, and thus capture en masse.  The reg army was composed of conscripts unconvinced by Mussilini's message, and with no wish to fight for his vision.  Lake of courage or ability were not the factors involved.

FYI

While that is intended to be a slight on the Italian army during ww2, I wish my in game  tanks would go faster in reverse....certainly preferable to exposing the tanks rear armour to an advancing enemy. AFAIK The  British Archer TDs and Crusader Arties are the only in game vehicles which go faster in reverse.

The French forces fought bravely during the Battle of France. The air force did more damage to the Luftwaffe than the Brits did during the Blitz. Even when the high command capitulated the remnants of the French army fought on, finally forming a buffer at Dunkirk that allowed the evacuation to take place at all. The fought until they ran out of ammo.    Free French forces took part in many actions in many areas.

This is true, the French forces bought time with their own blood for the British forces at Dunkirk. They never seem to be remembered for doing so though which is a bit of a travesty tbh. Those men shouldn't be remembered as cowards.

Am I in the minority when I say that these tanks actually look really good? I swear, sure, the tier 9 and 10 look underwhelming, but that's the test server and I have no doubt they'll be buffed to be a bit more competitive for the live server.

It is one line I'm actually really looking forward to.

The biggest travesty is that Emperor Napoleon is only remembered for Waterloo.
