I realise it keeps bonus when moving but does the camo stack on movement and improve it by 50%.

Example: Say i'm like a UDES (but a Scout) and i can't be spotted until 160 meters, I realise it is the same when stationary, however would Silent Driving decrease that to 80 meters when moving or is it still 160 meters? Bare in mind i'm acting like UDES is a Light Tank in this example.

Cheers :)

No it won't help a light tank.

Yes, the description says camo improves stationary and moving camo.

Silent driving has no use on light tanks.

You'll need to look at the detailed camo stats for the tank, but in general, most tier 3+ light tanks cannot benefit from Silent Driving since their stationary and moving camo ratings are the same. So SD is redundant.

This post below is a year old and with the new tanks added since then is a bit out of date. But the list should give you an idea of which lights can benefit from Silent Driving.

Now, if your crew jumps around to different premiums like TDs or mediums, then you may still want SD on that crew.

As mentioned, if your light tank is a scout (concealment moving and static are the same) then Silent Driving is useless as it gives you back half the difference between the moving and static camo values whilst moving. So on true scouts the figures are the same and it offers no benefit.

If you are using a non-scout light with 2 different concealment values, or something like a sneaky TD to spot, then Silent Driving will be very useful. As an example I have an American crew with Silent Driving that I use in tanks like the M56 Scorpion TD to sneak around and hide in bushes. I also use the same crew for the other transferable camo and view  skills in my AMX Chaffee and Lycan even though the Silent Driving is useless in the 2 scout tanks.

I hope it helps. :)

Cheers, it's for T-50-2 says "keep" on the Normal T-50 but not sure for T-50-2.

Hope Max sees this and can update as missing lots of higher tier Lights such as T-100 LT which i want one day :)

Best way to be sure is to press triangle on the tank in your garage :)

it has the miniscule effect of stacking on green thumb, so you don't lose that bonus when adjusting yourself behind a bush so to speak.
But yeah, basically pointless on a light.

Says stationary/Moving 0.30 at the moment but missing Camo crew (No SD either) using Church to train a fresh crew (Got SS, Camo, now training BIA, then Spotting perks and Smooth Ride), i'll train SD after BIA if it counts :)

If stationary and moving values are the same, then no camo is lost when moving.

The values on the info screens are not 'live' values, and only reflect the tank+packages, and not skills, equipment etc.

You prolly know this site, but you can check it here, it's WoT Console guide:

http://www.worldoftanksgameguide.com

Go to compare tanks and select the tank you want, somewhere in the middle of screen you can add different Skills and camo bonuses, SD is there too. But basically you can also see it in game overview of the tank, if camo values while stationary and while moving are identical, then SD is useless on that tank.

The 13. (Tiger) Kompanie, of Panzer Regiment Großdeutschland, reported on the performance of the 88 mm KwK 36 L/56, when their Tigers engaged the T-34: "First round hits were usually achieved at ranges between 800 to 1,000 meters. At these ranges, the Panzer Granate (they are referring to the PzGr. 39 APCBC ammunition) absolutely penetrated through the frontal armor, and usually still destroyed the engine at the rear of the T-34 tank. In 80 percent of the cases, shots from the same range hitting the side of the hull toward the rear of the tank resulted in the fuel tanks exploding. Even at ranges of 1,500 meters and longer, during favorable weather, it is possible to succeed in penetrating the T-34 with minimal expenditure of ammunition" (JENTZ, Thomas L.; Germany's TIGER Tanks - Tiger I and II: Combat Tactics; op. cit.).

3 MoE tanks: T-34, Pz IVH, Tiger I, Pz.Kpfw. T 25

Cheers, stats are 100% identical on T-50-2 and T-100 LT.

They should let it give a bonus to lights. Maybe 10% or so. Not too much.

Any light tank that has the same stationary and moving camo won't get any benifit. Some lower tier lights like the crusader don't get the same camo on the move as stationary so in theory they should benefit from silent driving.

That would be illogical as it would mean they would have a higher camo rating while moving than while stationary.

No

Muffled shot also won't make your gun quieter.

To clarify I did make a joke post complaining about the racket my tanks make when driving around, and wondering why silent driving didn't dampen it via rubber and muffler city. Original post didn't mentioned rubber or mufflers, but that's the only way I could see it happening. Maybe lotsa grease too.
