Wanted to say that I think it is just grievously wounded, but not dead. Wanted to - but something tells me he may just be right. Which is sad in it own way, that I can not longer even have hope - afraid even if 4.6 was the balancing update I DREAMED of, it is not enough- the game mechanics need an overhaul that I just don't see WG even attempting to try to fix.

Agreed.

A lot, depends on 4.6 imo. Soooooo much constructive criticism & honest well thought out suggestions have been given to WG over the years - It'd be a shame if they don't do anything with that.

Meanwhile, 4.5 Mercs haven't killed off the game for me, but I am not touching Merc tanks until the line goes into more sensible directions ( hint, see Merc tanks Suggestion Threead ).

I’m still not convinced. I’ve never read any account of a tank being knocked out by a direct hit to the cupola. I have read a few when artillery or even mortar shells directlyhit a hatch, but with those the blast is already directed downwards. I suppose it is possible, but most times tanks had a hard enough time just hitting the enemy vehicle, not even trying to aim at a small target like a cupola.

And as for War Thunder I wouldn’t be too convinced by how they handle cupola shots. It’s funny how two tank games made by Russian designers that make Russian tanks a lot more capable than real life seem to make vision cupolas the Achilles heel of tanks when Russian tanks don’t actually use them? Coincidence? :)

Having something have happened and having something be possible are two different things. I don't think WoT has a big issue with Russian bias. .... WT definitely does though

It’s a rare occurance in reality but in both tank games it’s a quite common thing to do.  See a heavily armored tank, shoot the cupola until it explodes. This has always bothered me.
