Right im sick of bouncing shots off the flat side of a maus so im going to ask, what is the best way to deal with a maus, or where can you shoot it (other than spamming gold into turret cheeks)

Well I only use guides to get an idea, then you try and see what works. Don't know if there are aany diffs between this on PC and console.

What is great about the Maus is that the engine is at the center of gravity so if you lock on and fire at it from the side, you also hit the engine and have a decent chance of setting it on fire.

The only Maus "weakspot" is the turret front, with loads of HEAT spam...

I killed one yesterday in my M48 by spamming HEAT into the turret cheeks. He missed 3 shots and bounced one off my turret somehow. :B

The side of the hull is probably the most vulnerable and why it should be protected/angled at all costs. S'why I often angle my rear and would rather fight backwards than to spend time turning around only to give free shots into the side. Better to potentially take health damage vs health damage + ammo rack, engine, fuel tank, etc.

Don't know if it's mentioned in that video as I haven't watched it yet. You can fire HE rounds into the lower turret cheeks if your gun is good enough to warrant HE dumping, because it splashes down into the engine deck and fuel tanks. Nothing like triggering a fire or further crippling the mobility.

Yes I know I'm going to regret it when I see more people using it on me, but there's so many maus running around nowadays playing lazily and never angling I don't mind seeing them burn.

And the center of the LFP. A tier 8 20-pounder can pen it square on pretty easy.

If you mean trying to pen the Maus from the front or trying to take it down by yourself, good luck with that, buddy.

Nice tip! Some tier 8 heavy was penning my mle.49 frontally and as he wasn't targeting my cupola had no idea how. After I was dead the only holes in the tank were directly under my gun mantlet on the top surface of the hull. Three big juicy holes. The guy was bouncing shells off my gun mantlet's underside into my hull!!! I still wonder if he got lucky or knew exactly what he was doing.

Since I am going for the Maus, I would say that the weak spot is the operator, after grinding through the Mauschen.......Look for mistakes in how they play it due to exhaustion/frustration.......

I would also add, if you don't like the Maus on console, you really wouldn't like it on PC where camping and bad player's aren't encouraged, and artillery does 37 damage to it per shot (instead of 800-1000) and TDs have extremely nerfed view ranges and also do less damage. Oh, and the Maus also has a 20% quicker rate of fire on PC. So. Count your chickens.

Yeah, it's one of those things some stumble across accidentally. Since one of the first solutions to bouncing is to load up HE instead of premium, they just splash random bits of the tank. What some don't realize is how effective it is against certain tanks, namely front engined ones. Just yesterday I was slinging HE at a maus or two into the lower cheeks and scoring 300-500 each hit. Can't remember if one set fire, but I know from using a maus a fair bit that once the HE to the face starts rolling in the main things to die are optics, gun, engine, fuel tank, radio, driver in no particular order. That's not counting the slow health bleed even with a spall liner or possible fire.

Once you get to the side that's where it becomes extremely dangerous for the maus as it's huge, flat, and often difficult to reposition yourself so it's angled from the front or rear. It's the easiest spot to nail the ammo rack and engine, further crippling or killing it.
Continuing from yesterday I bounced a leopard 1 and E100 off the rear/side of my maus during rear angle fighting. Again, not my choice, but there's no way the maus can out move a leopard 1 so you gotta make due. Trying to do a 180 over the course of about 15-25 seconds to point the front at something is one of the biggest errors I see. Just offers free side shots.

Armor on the floor of the Maus is pretty thin. You can shave big chunks off the Maus by firing HE into ground under the Maus.

What ever tactic you use is legit, but if the emey does it then its a cheap unfair OP noob tactic.
