Omg the King may have found a worse light tank driver than himself to coach.

1757...and counting...in my best Light tank, I can land one every 5 games.

Dear King, you have 34000+ battles. If you landed a scout medal every 5 games, you'd have around 6000+ scout medals.

More often than not it’s an achievement of nothing

patrol duty is a far better goal.

Almost everything you said is wrong, except for the amount of scout medals you have, and even then you've only gotten just over 650 of them above tier 5. You have 532 in you luchs in 4810 games, definition of seal clubbing. You are not in a position to tell anyone how to play a scout effectively.

However, if you or anyone else is willing to learn more about the game, there are people on here who are willing to help. Look for forumers with the WOTHP clan tag, or go to the WOTHELP threads, found in the Newcomer section or clan recruitment section at the moment.

Edit: King, I'm going to break it down so that the op can understand where your wrong.

First, your "rules"

1. It's map dependant. The middle is the most effective place to spot from simply because it's the most view range you can put on a map. Any open map like Prokohorovka, Murovanka, and the like. If you are staying to the sides of the map, you are cutting your effective view rang in half.

2. That applies to any tank, but isn't necessary. Understanding how to work ridge lines, you can run straight lines all day along and never get it.

3. That is dependent on the situation. I'm not about to let an over extended light tank get away with his mistake. Also, providing you can get into effective cover or abuse a ridge line, there is absolutely no reason to not engage the enemy.

Springs are not as useful as other equipment like optics, vents, and vertical stabilizer. Co2 is essentially useless. You can run skills that offer the same effect and use the slot for something else.

Fixing your tracks when they are damaged (orange) and not broken(red) is a waste of a repair kit. Yes, you won't be as fast, but if you get ammo racked, or tracked out in the open after blowing the repair kit, your looking for a new tank to play in the next game.

Also  despite your claim, you are not landing a scout medal every 5 games. You recent stats prove otherwise.

I said in my best earner I got one medal 1 out of 5.  Intellectually dishonest a lot huh?

Are we really going down that road again? Intellectually dishonest? How about you outright fabricating, well just about everything you say?

I noticed that you neglected to mention that your best scout medal earner is a tier 4 luchs. Don't you think it's disingenuous to claim you are a good scout when most of your success comes only against low to mid tier newer players?

1757...and counting...in my best Light tank, I can land one every 5 games.

Rule 1- NO crossfire, stay out of their middle.

Rule 2- NO straight lines, wiggle your tailpipes.

Rule 3- Don't tussle too early.

I run Coated Optics, Springs, and CO2 on the gas tanks.  Large repair kit, small kit, and usually auto fire extinguisher.

*REPAIR YOUR TRACKS, if they are damaged.  If not you'll get tracked and dead sooner.

Just to do it, I took out my lycan with a %100 9 skill crew equipped with coated optics, Vert stabilizer and vents. Consumables where all small, repair kit, med kit, and fire extinguisher. Got Panama/Westfield.

I did everything King tells you not to do  I ran to the middle of the map, drove in straight lines, and engaged red tanks early and often.

I an early shot from a vk30. 02m, but my tracks ate it, didn't repair it. Moving over to spot for a fallen flank, I took a shot from a T29 that took my tracks off and damaged my ammo rack. What do you think I did? If you answered fix the track, you're wrong. Situation awareness let me know that the T29 and his partner behind him just fired, I have roughly 9 seconds before they fire again. Fix the ammo rack, let my crew deal with the tracks, and keep moving.

My early spotting run up the middle using cover and ridges got 7 spots right off the start. My engaging tanks early got me close to 700 damage.

When it was all said and done, over 1400 damage, almost 3500 spotting assist, scout medal, spotter medal, fighter medal, fire for effect, hand of God, 4 kills and I lived till the end of the match.

If I had burned my repair kit early, I would have had damaged tracks and a damaged ammo rack and would have been missing 3 of the 5 medals.

The results speak for themselves.

^Indeed they do, nice results that's how you scout!

Now if only Kingshethead could learn to scout like that,
we wouldn't have to be running him off the forums.

Thanks, I'll admit that I'm not even that good in lights, but I restarted the French line again because I still want the AMX 30.

I was stealing kills like a boss, but the only good red is a dead red.

Wait for widepark, prok, ensk, murovanka, malinovka.

Rush for middle hill. If youre not going to be the first green there, peel away. If you get there first, approach hill from a 45 degree angle, dont crest it and go down the other side, follow the ridgeline, drop back to your side if targeted. Circle and repeat until you hit 9 spots.

this is indeed why I post these videos, to show that it is possible to get a scout medal without yoloing and leaving your team in the wind to twist....

I usually curb my yolo instincts, because it would be unfair to the team that I simply do my own thing, selfishly. I am disappointed with those other players that do it, so I try to stay true to my beliefs. I am your typical team player.

The Patrol Duty medal, I have not gotten even one after nearly 10K games. So I figured it was not an easy one, although, to me, they all are difficult to get... lol...

I got 495 scout medals and about 456 patrol duty medals. However i never really set out toget the medals. It would be hard for me to get them on demand. Heed Saerbhreathach and Proflex, they are light tanker pros.

You don't have to justify it.  Necroing a thread so we can laugh at King North TX again is perfectly legitimate.

I'm not stealing kills, I'm handing out Confederate medals.
