CREW

Comes with the Dark Fox crew, which has the Camouflage skill.

 

Significantly faster than the French donor of its hull, Thresher is well-armored and fronted with an aggressive weapon.

Though great all-rounders, Assault tanks can be at a disadvantage against specialists. They are devastating in groups, and can be used to weaken enemy footholds.

 

Bio: A New Zealand native born to Mexican parents who fled their homeland during the Mexican Revolution, Dark Fox served under British command as an RAF pilot during World War II. After being shot down over Axis territory, he was presumed dead by his country and squadron. Despite the terrible injuries that almost claimed his life, he was nursed back to health by a kind family whose lives had not yet been reached by the war. While Dark Fox was out hunting one day, the family was captured and executed for sheltering an Allied soldier. Consumed by rage, Dark Fox stole a tank from a nearby village’s occupying forces and waged a campaign of vengeance and terror against Axis forces throughout the war and beyond.

Rewards: 5000 Silver, Manual fire extinguisher, 1 small repair kit, 1 small first aid kit

 

Stage 3

• Destroy 1 or more vehicles in any number of battles
• Detect an enemy vehicle and destroy an enemy vehicle in the same battle
• Earn 3600 or more XP in any number of battles

Play as Pz.Kpfw. I or any German or Mercenary; Light Tanks or Medium Tanks; Tiers II - X

Rewards: 2000 silver, 1 - X2 XP Boost

 

Stage 4

• Assist with spotting damage totaling at least 700 in any number of battles
• Destroy 1 or more Light Tanks or Medium Tanks
• Earn 4800 or more XP in any number of battles

Play as StuG IV or any German or Mercenary; Medium Tanks or Tank Destroyers; Tiers V - X

Rewards: 5000 silver, 1 -  Manual Fire Extinguisher, 1 - Small Repair Kit, 1 - Small First Aid Kit

 

Stage 5

• Assist with spotting damage totaling at least 1x your maximum health in any number of battles
• Earn 9600 or more XP in any number of battles
• Earn a High Caliber medal in a battle

Can you explain what you are experiencing and how are you are unable to progress the 4th stage?  Please let me know as soon as possible in case we need to escalate the issue.

I'm blocked on the 5th stage. For "Assist with spotting damage totaling at least 1x your maximum health in any number of battles", I did 293 assisted damaged in one battle using my Pz. II G, which has 240HP yet it didn't give me the completion.

So I finished the grind for this vehicle with the above contract. I started right after i finished the Long Reach on the October 14th. I figured that since this was just a Tier 3, that it would be easy to knock off in just a week --- boy was I wrong.

 

The problems I had with this contract were stages 5 & 6, specifically the following requirements:

• Earn a High Caliber medal in a battle
• Earn a Duelist medal in a battle

 

It turned out that it was actually an enormous pain trying to earn High Caliber. I frequently ran into:

• I was tops in damage but didn't hit the 20% threshold
• I hit the 20% threshold, but 2nd in damage
• I was tops in damage, hit the 20% threshold, so I must have bumped one of my teammates
• I was bottom tier trying in the matchmaking

Believe me, you'll find this game super annoying when you are constantly playing a Tier 8 tank in a Tier 10 match. That sort of match typically has 30,000 hit points on the red team, so earning High Caliber requires doing 6,000 damage. Do-able, but not easy. Given that the tank here is just a Tier 3, I came to the conclusion that it was just a bit too difficult for the contract. I know that I'm going to stay away from any contracts that require High Caliber as a direct result of this experience.

 

For the Duelist medal, it wasn't so much the medal itself, it was the tank selection I had - I suspect that if I had bother keeping my AMX 38 or AMX 40, than this would have been rather easy. But I sold those tanks years ago and I really didn't want to go back to them. When I playing the higher tier German and French tanks, killing two enemies wasn't difficult, what was letting them damage me before I killed them.  

 

I can't count the number of times I let the enemy damage me, I would whittle away the enemy to just a single shot, and boom, one of my team mates would ninja the kill. I finally had to resort to waiting until I had one "duelist" kill before finding a tank to suicide ram charge to get both the damage to myself and the kill. In the match where i got duelist, I got really lucky and have a very small splash from arty as I was in duel to the death with another light. I was even more lucky by being able to find the arty quickly and getting an ammo rack kill as I'm charging it.

 

After thinking about it, I came to conclusion that I disliked the requirement because it involves doing something that is un-natural --- that is letting the enemy hit you. If this was changed to "Get 2 kills in 1 match", then its the same net result, but far more appropriate for this tier contract.

We debunked that with replays, bumping a teammate won't ruin your HC award if you are supposed to earn it. 

The transcript of this medal comes from PC where there is friendly fire and has never been corrected. 

Still, it says:

 « Deal the biggest amount of damage in a battle  » and by that I'm pretty sure it means "deal most damage out of both teams" so maybe a Red dealt more and earned it ?

I went searching for the description of the High Caliber medal requirements on Console, but they moved / got rid of the FAQ pages on the website that had it. The PC version implies that it's per-team as it uses the plural in "Awarded to players who dealt ..." , but I'm not 100% sure on that interpretation.

 

I did find links to this recent thread http://forum-console...iber-medal-bug/ which has the full video of someone who should have earned it, but didn't. 

 

At the end of the day, the takeaway is that it was frustrating getting it --- especially considering that it was for a Tier 3 tank. The effort required isn't justified by the reward.

I'm pretty sure he hit the teammate at 2:45. This would explain not getting it, it's the last hypothesis I'm working on for NOT getting a HC medal.

For the rest, I agree, been through the Sharpshooter thanks to the Stinger which earned me those 2 HC.
