I was in my AT-15 in an upper-tier Assault match on Sand River.  We were already ahead by at least two tanks when NateDog in his M-103 and I peeled off to chase a M-103 that I had retreated towards the left, while most of our force was to our right.

As I cruised through the village, I realized the OPFOR tank was down in the gully.  NateDog had taken his M-103 that way, so I decided to take the enemy from the flank while his attention was focused on my teammate.

As I cruised to the lip of the little ravine, I saw the M-103 was directly below me.  I wondered if the slope was steep enough that I would just land on and crush his track beneath the ponderous weight of my huge breakthrough tank.

I slid instead of dropped right into his side, and then fired, destroying his instantly.  I realized after a few seconds I had a problem...

I was wedged in tightly, at an angle, with the burnt-out hulk of the M-103 squarely in front of me.  By this time, we were devastating the enemy, so I called for help.  NateDog trundled over, and tried to push me down, or push the M-103's wreck out of the way.  No dice.

"Go ahead, man," I told Nate.  "Get back in the fight.  Thanks for trying."

He motored off, and I resigned myself to waiting out the battle wedged on my face while my team reigned over our adversaries.  I decided I might as well take a few pictures at my expense, which is when I actually took these shots- you can see OPFOR is down to a light tank and an artillery piece.

After a few minutes, I realize the red box of the enemy artillery is approaching me on the minimap.  No !@#$ing way, I say to myself, hoping it's just coincidence.  And I began loudly calling for help and using my radial wheel command like I never have before.

And then, yup, the enemy artillery is on me, peeking down from the lip of the gully.  It's too steep to get a shot, so he rolls down and straddles me.  He takes his time repositioning that looooong barrel at my exhaust.  I'm calling for help for all I'm worth.  What a way to go.

I'm watching from 3rd person view, and I can see it coming.  Crap.

BOOM!  I see the shot come in, killing him instantly.  God bless a good team.

A few of my team roll up.  They try to push me out again~ no dice.  But it's all good.

You never realize just how long some arty's barrels are, until they're poised above your backside...

that is F**king great.  it is so hard to find good team mates.   hopefully when more of the players get into the tier 8 + we will start to see more team mates that work together like this.  good job guys.  +1

Only thing that coulda made this better is if the arty had managed to fire, not quite killing you, but derping himself. Got my lucky during beta when an m37 tried this on my t95 lol

something, something, something, dark side...

That is the greatest thing I have seen from this game thus far.

My list of suggested package changes. Matthew J35u5 has one as well. I suggest you take a look at his too and make your own suggestions in either.

They didn't call it "Long Tom" for no reason.:glasses:
Huh... It's ok for the government to have enough weapons to destroy the world many times over, but I can't have 15 rounds in a clip for my AR-15. Go figure.

I thought that's where this was going!

Great post; made me laugh (and not feel as bad about doing similar things... or worse)

That's a great story especially with the screen shots that show exactly what you're saying!
